A/B. This will be in effect on Monday and we have a ne
w teacher transferring to our school
that will be taking on the new class. Diane Shepherd is the name of the new teacher and
she will be starting on Monday.

the school community know of the
reorganization status.

Annette Weber (SERT) will be the new librarian at River Oaks

year that she is bringing to the school such as a research mod
el. She will be able to come into a
School Council meeting and explain some of the new initiatives happening this year.

Discuss vote on council positions:

Jeff passed out copies of the Council Constitution and gave a brief overview

Three major areas we hav
e invested funds raised by council: technology, literacy, special
education

Meetings are monthly on a set night rotation. December and March we do not have
meetings. June is a social meeting. Meetings are usually 1 hour in length.

We will be voting on the
positions below at the next Council meeting. All positions are open.

Balance in bank account is $7800. Raised $5900 at BBQ in June and th
e magazines raised
$3200.

Spent $8300 on the past school year on programs supporting literacy, Spaces and Places,
spec ed

GST rebate of $300 will be forthcoming in the next few months

Grade 3 swimming program, Grade 8 grad pins = $1700 committed funds; wh
ich leaves us
with $6000 going into the year to support the school

Admin will make recommendations on how they can use the School Council funds going into
this year

major improvements

Mike provided an update that the blacktop will be patched; was supposed to be done over

have Red Cross babysitting certificates

meeting as to how we can act something interactive to the website
