perform water and wastewater treatment works



Handle and dispose of water and

waste water sludge in accordance with work policies,
procedures and the sludge guidelines in terms of the National Water Act


Who should attend:

skill programme

is aimed at persons who work or intend to work

as

water purification operator

in
the wa
ter and waste water treatment plant.


Entrance qualification:

Candidates should have a minimum of Grade 8; able to apply basic numeracy and literacy.

3 months or 240 notional hours

Assessment and certification:

Assessment

The
short
-
course
skill

programme will be conducted in the classroom and in normal workplace
condition, or
in a simulated env
ironment. In
addition to attending the coursework and completing
assessments, the learner will be required to compile a portfolio of evidence that will provide for a
summative assessment of competence on completion of the course.


Certification
:

Candidates who will have completed the programme and deemed competent will be issued with a
certificate of completion.
