About the DBJ’s Business Development Organization application process


The Development Bank of Jamaica (DBJ) seeks to identify qualified Business Development
Organizations (BDOs) interested in participating in a
project to provide business development
services to Small and Medium
-
sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Jamaica
.


The DBJ has designed a project to facilitate SMEs access to business development services that will
improve their eligibility to access financing fr
om our Approved Financial Institutions (AFIs). The
Business Development Organizations should be able to provide services in accordance with the
standards expected by the AFIs, such as:



Business Plan Preparation and Improvement



Preparation of Financial Stat
ements*



Training and/or Coaching in, but not limited to:

(i)

Financial Management

(ii)

Understanding Bank requirements to access financing

(iii)

Preparing proposals for Bank financing

(iv)

Business Process Improvement


The main responsibilities of the BDOs will be:



To provide quality business development services to the selected SMEs,



Conduct assessments to identify the services required to improve the SMEs operations,



Provide reports on the impact of the services on SMEs

This application process gives companies providing business development services
an opportunity
to participate in a programme being designed by the Development Bank of Jamaica.


Requests for expressions of interest for participation in this programme will

be made periodically
throughout the next financial year (i.e. April 2014


March 2015).



Applicants will be notified on the status of their application within 1 month after sending in
an
application.


Additional information may be attached.

INIMUM REQUIREMENTS


The companies submitt
ing

proposals should meet the following:



Five (5) years experience in providing
business development services
to SMEs



A key member of the organization should have a post graduate degree in Banking & Finance,
Entrepreneurship, Business Administration of any other related field



Valid Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC)



Registered with the

Companies Office of Jamaica


Please submit a copy of a valid TCC along with your completed application form.



Guidelines for evaluating Proposals


Application will be assessed
by an evaluation committee of the DBJ using the following:




Evidence of Valid
TCC



Educational Background



Ability to show their experience in providing business development services
