Core Programme

Years 1 & 2 Fundamentals



Mathematics, engineering science, analogue & digital circuits, software design, electronics,

electrical power engineering, computing and business. Group design projects


Year 3 Building Knowledge Base and Specialisation



Continue with core programme but begin to specialise with options in Signal processing,

design and analysis of electrical instrumentation systems,, engineering innovation, power

engineering and embedded systems.


Yrs 4 & 5 Continue with Mainstream Degree or Follow Specialist Curriculum

Separate curricula for Electronic & Digital Systems (EDS) and Electrical Energy Systems (EES)

Year 4

Study abroad opportunities for ALL students

Start adding specialist business, entrepreneurship and management classes for the EEE

with Business Studies Degree

Major individual and group projects to design, build and present a working prototype

linked to departments research and industrial programmes.

Classes in Electrical & Mechanical Systems Engineering, with advanced options in

Renewable energy, Robotics, Flight & Spacecraft, Transportation systems.
