Reflection on Genetic Engineering
-
Moral issues

Genetic Engineering
is viewed as both moral and immoral. People who
find it immoral say it is im
moral because it is changing the way
GOD

wanted that
plant or animal
or person
to be.

But Genetic Engineer
in
g can have

advantage
s

too.
If a pe
rson has a disease, like Hunting
ton’s disease, then that person can
go thro
ugh gene therapy, and they could

be cured. Personally, I think genetic
engineering is immoral. Being a Catholic, it goes against everything I wa
s taught
about how God made us, and if people were genetically engineered,
t
hen that
person is basically man
-
made, not made by God. Also, in this article I was
reading, it said how when Adam and Eve ate the fruit to try to be like God, they
were punished
by God, which made me think that if we use genetic engineering,
in which we are going against God and how he made us, then will we be
punished? If we cloned humans, then a lot of humans would all be the same,
and isn’t everyone supposed to be different, i
sn’t
everyone supposed to have a
unique quality about themselves?

Genetic Engineering is unlawful, and should be
banned. It is going against God and everything we are taught. If God wanted us
a certain way, then he would have made us that certain way.
