a

network

architecture

control

plane,

data

plane

and

management

plane

In

conventional

networking,

all

three

planes

are

implemented

in

the

firmware

of

switches
.


SDN

technologies

moves

out

the

switch’s

control

plane

from

the

switch

and

leaves

only

the

data

plane

inside

the

switch
