Bookmark toolbar missing?

Follow these steps to fix it.

1.

Export your bookmarks to an HTML file named
bookmarks.html.

Follow steps
above but choose the Export option and save them to your desktop or My
Document.

Now close Firefox and copy the bookmarks.htm
l file into
your

Firefox profile folder.

2.

Open Windows Explorer type
%APPDATA%
\
Mozilla
\
Firefox
\
Profiles

Now
double click your profile folder. For me it would be named
kwells.default
. You
are replacing a bookmarks.html file that already exits.

3.

While in you
r profile folder

delete (or rename) the places.sqlite file and, if it
exists, places.sqlite
-
journal. (
I also did steps 4 and 5
).

4.

(Optional)

If you want Firefox to automatically import your bookmarks from an
existing bookmarks.html file in the profile fold
er, instead of from a JSON
backup, open the bookmarkbackups folder and remove all bookmarks
-
(date).json
files to another location.

5.

It is probably a good idea to also delete (or rename) the localstore.rdf to remove
the references to the old Places file but

you will need to add back any
toolbar
customizations
.

6.

Now restart Firefox. You should now see the shortcuts you placed in your
bookmarks to
olbar

If this doesn’t work try this from
http://www.ghacks.net/2007/08/30/firefox
-
bookmarks

is
-
not
-
showing
-

Right
-
click on the top toolb
ar (File, Edit, History...) and select "Customize"

Grab the icon for "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" and move it onto the empty
bookmarks
toolbar

Close the customize dialog window
