POST is a Power On Self Test, it is a quick check to make sure all system components are there

3

It could be any key, depending on the manufacturer of the BIOS. Usually F8, F10, or F12

4
-

Tapping F8 repeatedly will bring up a menu from which you can choose safe mode. Booting into
safe mode turns off many components of windows, including networking.

The hard drive could be upgraded to a Solid State, or even a larger and higher RPM hard
drive. You could up the RAM to 8gb, at two sticks of

4gb. You could also put in a nice
graphics card, and
sound card. Also, you could add a wireless card so you can detect
wireless networks. You would also need a more powerful PSU. To back up the computer
I would say back it up to network storage.

The opera
ting system I am using is windows 7.

Buying Your System

I chose the 21.5in iMac for this person. First, to create iOS apps it is easiest to use a
Mac. The iMac is the best we can get with this budget. This comes with 2.9GHz quad
core i5, with turbo boost
up to 3.6GHz. It has 8gb of RAM, with a 1TB hard drive. It has
an NVIDIA GeForce GT750M with 1Gb dedicated GPU. You will need to run Windows 7
in a VM to run Visual Studio.
