ABSTRACT
Time is a very important parameter in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). Sensor Nodes

measure time by using local clock which are driven by oscillators. Due to random phase shifts

and drift rates of oscillator’s local time reading on nodes will start to differ. This results in loss of

synchronization among nodes. Hence a time synchronization protocol is necessary so that the

nodes are in synchronization with each other. The paper motivates the need for time

synchronization protocols in WSNs. We will also look at two protocols namely Reference

broadcast synchronization (RBS) and Flooding time synchronization protocol (FTSP).
