Hardware & Software Tightly Integrated



Digital systems hardware and software are much more
tightly integrated and far more pervasive throughout
plant systems. Therefore, the traditional approach to
handling software design (and configuration
management) in digital systems is not always adequate.



The hardware and software components of a digital
system cannot be adequately controlled separately
from each other.




The integration of the hardware and software is
paramount to achieving a high quality system and
adequate system integrity.
