teachers, to the students and the staff of the college.

the perspective plan of the internal quality Assurance cell
(IQAC)

the by product of on going efforts to achieve the objectives and goals aimed a

DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE:

It is one of the best department in the costal Orissa. There are six teaching staffs in the
department. It offers degree teaching in Commerce having strength of 256.

There is a seminar library and study room in the d
epartment with sufficient books, periodicals
and journals to cater the immediate needs of the students. It functions well under the direct
supervision of HOD and part in charge of seminar.

No of books in the seminar is 350 with the able guidance of Prof.Dh
iren Mohanty the
department organize various carrier counseling, employment guaranteed programme by inviting
resource person from different Universities.

The success of the department goes to the painstaking endeavor of both students and faculty
members.

DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMCS


The Faculty of economics was started from 1964. Eminent Lecturers and Professors served the
department from time to time. The teaching

learning process of the department is quite outstanding.
There are four full times Lecturers in the department. They are resourceful and having outstanding
performance.


The welcome ceremony was observed on 8.9.2009 under the Chairmanship of Prof. Sarat
Chandra Sahoo, HOD, Economics, in the department at 11.30 A.M. The teaching members of the
department along with the students were present on that ceremony. The ceremony was inaugurated by
the HOD by lightening the candles. Some of the students sang the we

Year students delivered their welcome address to the new entrant to the department with flower and pen.
Prof. B. Naik delivered his speech with a warm welcome address to the new comers. The department also

Prof. M.N. Mohanty and the topic was “Progress of Commercial Banking after Nationalization”.

DEPARTMENT OF SANSKRIT

Welcome Ceremony


The welcome ceremony of the department for the session 2009
-
2010 was observed on 4.9.2009.
Principal Prof. M.N. Mohanty presided over the meeting. The meeting was started at 11.00 A.M. in the
depar
tment and conducted by Dr. N.P. Das.


At the outset H.O.D. inaugurated the meeting by lightening the candles and offering garland in
the Portrait of Swami Vivekanand placed on the dais. Miss Rekha Padhi and Miss Anusuya Das chanted
mantra from Veda. A gro
up of students from 2
nd

and 3
rd

sang welcome song with musical instruments.
Secretary Sandkrit Seminar introduced the guests. Students of 2
nd

Year and 3
rd

year welcome to the new
comers with short speech. The new entrants of the department offered flowers
pen and pad. Then some
of the students of 1
st

year spoke in reply for the welcome.


A quick competition was arranged for the occasion by the students which lasted for half an hour.
Prof. N.P. Das delivered his speech. Then the President addressed the stud
ents to built their future. Then
the meeting come to an end. The department also observed Teachers Day, Ganesh Puja and Saraswati
Puja with much pump and luxury.

Seminars and Publication


On 6.12.2009 a Seminar was conducted in the department and the topi

“Vibhatisuarupanirupanam”. The research person was Prof. Bhagavan Parida, KAC, Kendrapara. On
21.9.2010 another topic presented “Karmanyevadhikaraste”. The research person was Swami
Parampriyanandaji from Jaipur.

The History Department is an old department.
The Welcome ceremony was observed on
26.8.2009 and presided by the Principal, Prof. M.N. Mohanty at 11.00 A.M. It was conducted by Miss
Nalini Prava Ray, HOD, History.


At the outset the students offered bouquets to the Principal and other faculty members
. The
Principal inaugurated the ceremony by lightening the candles the 2

Year students sang the welcome
song with musical instruments. The Seminar Secretary introduced the guests and spoke a few words
regarding the tradition of the department and the pur
pose of the meeting. The 3

students welcome the new comers with flower and pen. In reply the new comers spoke a little. After that
the other members delivered their welcome address and gave valuable suggestions for better future. The

eting came to an end after the vote of thanks by the Assistant Secretary.

The department organized State Level Seminar on 8.3.2009. The topic was “S

Education and Value System”. It was highly inspiring and beneficial to the students.

Dr. Major D.D. Khuntia Participated a Seminar at Revenshaw University and presented a paper
“Education Reformation and Disadvantages in Private Colleges”. He also submitted an Articl

Jagannath Sanskrit University. The topic was “Shakti Cult in Prachi Valley”.


DEPARTMENT OF POLITICAL SCIENCE


The faculty was an old faculty. Presently the department has five teachers. The academic
condition is healthy and all the teachers are engag
ed in teaching, learning and research activities.

Seminar Activities, Conference and Research Activities

Prof. S.K. Das conducted Seminar on different topics and act as a guide for project work and
evaluated the project papers.

Sri A.K. Bihari attended t
he State Level Seminar at B.P. College, Antei and attended another
U.G.C. Seminar at Nimol and submitted an Article “Judicial Activism”.

Sri P.K. Mohapatra presented a paper at Sambalpur University. The topic was “Role of Judiciary
for Good Governance”.

the script and provided voice in English for a documentary on S.V.M. Autonomous College,
Jagatsinghpur. He had translated into English an Odia short

by Pravat Ranjan Barik also had undertaken the translation of Odia documentary “Abhyasa Ru Abhisapa”
for Doordarshan’s National Award.
