Pre
-
Installatio
n Checklist

In order to preserve the current Commbridge behavior, it is important to gather some
machine
-
specific information prior to the Interchange installation. Please refer to your
platform specific commands for either Linux or Windows.

Please ensure

that the appropriate firewalls have been opened between the new client
endpoint server and the Interchange server. It is recommended to leave 5
-
7 business days
for lower environments (development, test, QA) and 10 business days for production. For
exter
nal partners and clients outside of the MagNet Commonwealth network, more time is
often needed for installation and validation, so allow for 5 additional business days.

Minimum System
Installation R
equirement
s

The m
inimum
s
ystem requirement
s

for the installation are
:

35 MB Disk Space Free (just for install media)

Additional storage for files used during transfers (Agency specific)

Windows 2008 and Linux RHEL5
-
32 preferred, Windows 2003 supported, AIX
supported

Interchange is supported and recommended in a VMWare Virtual Machine

A minimum configuration requires a 1
-
cpu machine with 1GB of memory.

The
specific memory requirements depend on the type of Client configuration from the
list above but in general the me
mory requirements are fairly modest.

Note:
Mainframe has separate requirements

Prerequisites for Linux Platform

The p
rerequisites for Linux Platform

include:

Minimum of 35 MB free storage

Ability to login (sudo) to the ‘mqfte’ user on the host you are in
stalling

$ sudo su
-

mqfte

Java runtime installed and available in the install user’s path. Verify by typing:

$ java

version

Machine must be able to access XML Gateway. Verify by trying to telnet to the
gateway using port 443. Note, this example
uses the test version of the XML
Gateway. You should use the appropriate Gateway for your verification (e.g. Test,
QA, Prod)
.

$ telnet wsgwtest.mass.gov 443

is not in your $PATH, use the fully qualified name

o

$ ls ./CBTrace.log

Create a Backup of Existing Commbridge Installation Tree

Recommend creating a backup of the existing CommBridge installation tree. (Optional)

In Unix/AIX/Linux style systems options such as tar or cpio. Example commands shown but
technical contact should work with their system administrator to create a backup as needed
