HOW TO
CONFIGURE YOUR DRUPA
L SITE WITH SOME COM
MON
SETTINGS.

The first time you log in to Drupal to “claim” your site, you will have to set up the program with some
tweaks and settings. If you are lucky enough so that the site has been in use, you don’t

have to do this
however you may find some tweaks and tricks in this tutorials which my help.
First log in and go to the
Administer link. Scroll down to the Site Configuration section. Click the File Uploads link.


Here are the types of file and thei
r extensions which

can be loaded to your Drupal si
te. Make sure that

all
necessary picture types (gif, jpg) are included as well as docx and (if you want to run Flash movies swf flv
and fla). Also make sure you have the maximum allowable file size here.

Scroll down a little and click the Settings for Administrator and make sure the same entries are made. You
may also wish to ensure that you have a substantial amount of server space for all your files by changing
the value here.

When done click Save C
onfiguration to save your work.


Now return to the Site Configuration page and click the Site

link.

a common one but there are others. Leave the choice
to him or her.

You can find this out by going back to
the Site Configuration

screen and choosing Input Format

Click the Buttons and Plugins link here and you will see all the editing icons currently showing for your
WYSIWYG editor.

One word of caution, jot down the settings
BEFORE you change anything and that way if things don

t work, you can always return to the original state.
