RATP, the company operating the public transp
ortation in Paris is faced with growing
security
issues. VisioWave unique positioning and competences in the area of digital video networking
and the ability to bridge the security and multimedia
businesses was the key to the RATP's problem: how to
deploy

an effective video surveillance system that
guarantees a high level of security in the public
transportations with a quick return on invest and how to
make it paid.

RATP's 3500 buses will be progressively equipped with
the VisioMT product running VisioWav

Upgrade of the CCTV Systems on the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly lines. These Lines are
handling about 600 million passengers annually across 129 stations of which Tube Lines

authorities maintain and upgrade 100.


VisioWave will supply its leading Digital Video Equipment, including integrated high capacity
embedded secured video recording for high end intelligent Video Security Network architecture.
The first phase of deployme
nt includes the enhanced CCTV system installation with about 350
modern cameras installed in 8 stations.

LILLE METRO, FRANCE



Lille is the largest city in the north of France. With one of the highest
density of inhabitants in France, the Lille area be
nefits from a very efficient
public transportation infrastructure, including two metro lines.

VisioWave has been selected over several other digital video surveillance
system providers to equip the 61 stations of the metro network.

This is the consequence
of the well known reliability of its equipements as
well as the high quality of the images delivered both in real time and from
recorded files. The VisioWave Video operating Systems® enables the Lille Metro security
department to distribute multiple, high

quality video streams over a fiber Gigabit Ethernet IP
network.

With the web based Security Center, any camera can be viewed from any point of the network,
using an analog video device or a standard PC.

the decision to deploy a new digital video surveillance system on the Madrid

Barcelona high speed line to improve security in the stations and on the railway tracks.


GIF is a department part of the Spanish Development Ministry. Its
responsibility is to c

regulation of trains' circulation, the maintenance of infrastructures,

ORLÉANS TRAMWAY

In 2000, Orléans, a 260 000 inhabitant city located in
the centre of France, inaugurated a 18 km,
24 station tramway line. The requirements for video
surveillance mentioned a high quali
ty video surveillance
system that would allow both the surveillance of the
platforms (security of passengers) and the control of the
tramway coaches on the roads (traffic control).

Digital Video Networking appeared to be the best way to
combine quality, fl
exibility, ease of use and cost
effectiveness. Orléans chose VisioWave as the most appropriate provider able to implement a
complete and operationnal digital video networking solution.

SNCF

FRANCE



SNCF is the national railway operator for France. They chose VisioWave to
upgrade the video surveillance
system on Line C, one of the largest
suburban metro line in the Paris area. One of the technical requirement for
this project was to integrate old technology cameras into the new digital
system. Hence, VisioWave developed an automated "wake up" system for
the existing vacuum tube cameras.

BORDEAUX T
