M
ethodology

The exact methodology
to be employed
is TBD. However, the plan must align with the
University’s Strategic Plan.
The p
lanning effort will be undertaken by three committees each
with co
-
chairs appointed by the CIO.
One co
-
chair for each committee will come f
rom the UTC
membership; the other will be a Director in Information Technology Services.
The three
committees are Academic Technology, Administrative Systems, and Technology Infrastructure.
Areas of
focus

for each committee

and proposed committee
co
-
chairs

and
members

are

outlined below.

Committee
co
-
chairs will add members and/or resource personnel as desired

and needed
.

Because there will be overlap in the work of the three groups, a steering committee comprised
of the six co
-
chairs and the chair and v
ice chair of the University Technology Committee will
oversee the planning process.

Planning T
imeline

Planning to plan

meetings

of the steering committee will be conducted during July and
August. The formal planning process will kick off
with an announcement
at the first UTC
meeting of the academic year, scheduled for September 13.

This
process
is expected

to be neither complex no
r overly complicated. Thus, given the
envisioned deliverable (see below), the anticipated process should take no longer than the Fall
semester.

Deliverable

The ultimate deliverable will be a single, concise (no more than 5
-
6 pages) set of strategic
tec
hnology objectives and associated goals, clearly aligned with the University’s strategic plan.
