Postdoctoral Research Associate

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking a postdoctoral
research scientist to work on multiscale computational materials science of the
hydration of cementitious materials.
Research

will involve the use and refinement
of kinetic cellular automaton models for simulating coupled reactions and mass
transport, and the development of methods for coupling these models to kinetic
Monte Carlo methods operating at smaller length and time scal
es.
Candidates
should have a strong background and interest in modeling, thermodynamics,
chemical kinetics, and interfacial phenomena. Experience in C++ programming is
preferred but not required.

Appointments are for one year with an expectation of exte
nding to a second year.
U.S. citizenship is not required.
For further information, i
nterested candidates
