About the Author
Joseph Lowery has been writing about computers and new technology since 1981. He is the
author of the previous editions of Dreamweaver Bible, as well as the recent HTML5 24-Hour Trainer,
Adobe CS4 Web Workflows, Adobe CS3 Web Workflows, and CSS Hacks and Filters (all published by
Wiley). He is also the author of Joseph Lowery’s Beyond Dreamweaver, Dreamweaver MX 2004 Killer
Tips (with Angela Buraglia), and Dreamweaver MX 2004 Web Application Recipes and Dreamweaver
8 Recipes (with Eric Ott), all published by New Riders. He has also written books on HTML and on
using the Internet for business. His books are international best sellers, having sold more than
400,000 copies worldwide in 11 different languages. Joe is also a consultant and trainer, as well
as a multi-course author with Lynda.com. He has presented at Seybold in both Boston and San
Francisco, Adobe conferences in the United States and Europe, and ThunderLizard’s Web Design
World. He is currently building websites for a number of designers and is also the Vice President
of Yggdrasil Ink, LLC.
About the Technical Editor
Colin Macdonald’s interest in computers began when he first witnessed the power of VisiCalc
running on an Apple II computer, and his interest intensified when he designed the print col-
lateral for the first commercial spell-checking program for personal computers. He began using
and teaching most of the Adobe and Macromedia programs from their introduction—including
Dreamweaver, when it came with a 146-page manual. He has been a record company art director,
university creative director, professor, consultant, and trainer in both North America and Asia.
Colin enjoys sharing his experiences and knowledge with and learning from others. He insti-
tuted the first multimedia courses at the University of Hawaiis Department of Communication,
where he taught multimedia design and development for over a decade. He is a core faculty
member of Pacific New Media, the premier digital and media education center in Hawaii.
When Colin isn’t creating websites, consulting, or training, he enjoys photography, live music,
hiking, and traveling to other countries. He calls Honolulu, Hawaii, home and can be found on
the Internet at http://www.macbinary.com.
