Build the Next Great iOS Game with Cocos2D!

Cocos2D is the powerhouse framework behind some of the most popular games in the App
Store. If youve played
Tiny Wings, Angry Birds, Mega Jump, Trainyard,
or even
Super
Turbo Action Pig,
then youve played a game that uses Cocos2D or Box2D physics. The
beauty of Cocos2D is its simplicity. Its easy to become overwhelmed when you start
developing an iOS game, especially if you look at things like OpenGL ES, OpenAL, and
other lower level APIs. Writing a game for the iPhone and iPad does not have to be that
difficult, and Cocos2D makes game development fun and easy.

Learning Cocos2D
walks you through the process of building
Space Viking
(which is free on
the App Store), a 2D scrolling game that leverages Cocos2D, Box2D, and Chipmunk. As you
build
Space Viking,
youll learn everything you need to know about Cocos2D so you can
create the next killer iOS game.

Download the free version of
Space Viking
from the App Store today! Help Ole find his way
home while learning how to build the game.

As you build
Space Viking,
youll learn how to

Install and configure Cocos2D so it works with Xcode 4

You don't usually associate outdoor furniture with winter, although spring is generally fine.
Why is this? Is it because of the temperature? If so, there are many ways to heat a patio,
and in any case lots of people like crowding round a charcoal barbecue on a cold winter
night drinking JD, wine or beer and waiting on these great BBQ shrimp, dogs, sausage and
pepper heroes or just a tasty burger or three! There is an equally fabulous selection of
outdoor furniture to go with such a wonderfully unique occasion, although you will likely
spend more time choosing the furniture than the food! Let's begin by looking at patio tables
and chairs and then discuss fire pits that can also help heat you up on these cold winter
evenings. Outdoor Furniture: Indoors or OutdoorsMost people have a favorite type of
outdoor furniture. Some cannot look past wicker or rattan, while others prefer solid wood.
The latter could be solid pine planks or waterproofed American cherry or oak. Naturally,
you will have a problem with eating outdoors in a snowstorm, and this type of furniture is
more suited to California, Georgia and other warmer southern states. First of all, it makes a
difference if your patio is covered and has no rain to deal with. If not, then you might be
best to select outdoor furniture made from plastic, fiberglass, treated wood or even metal,
because it will likely have to withstand rain and sun and also the occasional storm. In the
latter case, light plastic furniture could be blown away, so keep that in mind.If your patio is
covered, then you can use regular woods and furnishings, such as upholstered sofas and
chairs and even polished tables. Otherwise, for any outdoor use it makes sense to stick to
wicker or wood furniture and use cushions only in dry weather. Most furniture stores in
Atlanta, Pasadena, Miami and the other ocean coast towns and cities offer a good selection
of outdoor furniture, not just dedicated patio furniture, but suitable for your garden or
backyard.Patio Furniture OptionsAs stated, wicker and solid wood are the preferred
materials because, while plastic is waterproof and available in many colors, it also tends to
be light and not suitable for winter use when storms can blow at any time. Outdoor
furniture collections are available for most uses, such as the Agio Heritage collection,
featuring rust-proof powder-coated aluminum and a durable fabric for the cushions. A
good alternative material for less attractive winter climates is wicker, and the Welcome
collection by Erwin and Sons includes wicker chairs and a loveseat together with a lovely
glass-inlaid wicker dining table for your patio. Overall, the Welcome collection is good for
covered and uncovered patios in any weather conditions. There are many more collections of
outdoor furniture online, and your personal choice will be determined by your climate and
your needs. Outdoor Furniture in Atlanta will be different to the patio furniture in Seattle,
and you will select whatever best suits your needs and geographical location.Patio
Furniture and Fire PitsIs your outdoor furniture needed only for a quiet outdoor meal now
and again, and perhaps a cup of coffee or tea after a day at work? If the winter is mild will
you have an occasional family barbecue but not much more. Or maybe this winter you will
buy a fire pit so you can snuggle up in your wicker loveseat and enjoy the outdoor heat. Fire
pits are becoming more popular - possibly due to global warming making our winters
colder! Fire pits are excellent focal points for your patio and can not only be used for heat
but also to cook food. A bullet oven might be better for cooking, or perhaps a gas BBQ, but
a fire pit in your patio can beat each of these for an informal snuggle when it's cold outside
but you fancy some fresh air. There is a wide variety of outdoor furniture for winter and
spring, and which you select will be determined by your personal preferences. Whatever
you select, it is proof that winter need not be spent indoors, and that come the spring and
summer you will already have a good selection of patio furniture to meet all your needs. If
you are interested in a selection of outoor furniture, visit the Woodstock Furniture Outlet
website. Woodstock have a wide range of outdoor and patio furniture available from their
Atlanta furniture showrooms.
