The Product

Sing
Honeycomb is a composite material made from vertical grain veneer and polyurethane foam to create
panels, beams, doors, and all structure
s that have a need to be either lightweight, high

strength, insulated,
sound deadening, or straight. It is a dynamic product that has an endless amount of applications.

The strength in wood is in the vertical gr
ain, not the weight. Take wood’s

vertical grain strength and
combine it with the insulating, sound deadening, lightweight properties of foam and you have Sing
Honeycomb. Vertical grain veneer strips are taken and criss

crossed in a similar pattern to a checkerboard,
then supported with f
oam to offer
insulation
to the lightweight honeycomb.

The invention of the
patented
Sing Honeycomb process
is based on
a
very simple idea:

The strength in wood is in the vertical grain, but not all of the vertical grain is required to
produce a strong piece of wood.
Having the wood fiber perpendicular to the skin or facial
board creates the strongest void, which is the phys
ical strength of the honeycomb.

Foam is lightweight
, and
offers insulation

and sound deadening properties
, but on its own, it
has very little strength.

3.

By striking a balance between strips of vertical grain wood (veneer) with the lightweight,
insulated properties of foam, Sing Honeycomb is the most dynamic composite material in

are currently manufactured in a variety of thicknesses. Below are popular
thicknesses we sell, but we can customize thickness to
ANY

order.

We are able to make panels at sizes up
to four inches.



32mm

32mm =1.26’’. The slimmest SHP currently offered. It is used in kitchen cabinets, dining
tables, and office furniture. Paper
honeycomb oftentimes must be 3 inches

to match the
strength SHP has at 32mm.

joists

needed in floor support. The panel is placed on top of joists.

and Insulation

We can produce the Sing Honeycomb veneer core at different metric sizes, which means
manufacturing

ore. Doubling the void distances of the
veneer to twice as close creates four

imes the com
pression and bending strength in

the material.

Smaller
metric sizes create higher compression, which is strength.

Depending on preference,
ANY

foam core is compatible with Sing Honeycomb. Urethane foam, recycled
EPS foam, phenolic f
oam, or soy based urethane foam have all been used for their different characteristics.

Value is a scale that measures the amount of insulation a material has. Th

Skin

A skin is the
sheet material

applied to both sides of the core to reinforce its strength.

Adding the skin to the core creates Sing Honeycomb panel’
s tremendous strength.
Depending on the skin,
strength and strai
ghtness can be customized. The skin
can also add aesthetic appeal
to the core.

Types of Skins

Particle board
-

2/3 the price of MDF.

Straight, but

less dense. It is not a fine material, so it is hard to make
extremely
smooth.

Medium Density Fiber
-


Heavier than particle board, but more smooth. Some MDFs can be fire resistant, water
resistant,
and lightweight MDF. Great for many applications, but for large customized doors, HDF should be
used.

3.

High Density Fiber
-


Similar to MDF, but

priced higher an
d is heavier

than MDF. It is straighter
, which makes it
excellent for large, oversized doors.

Aluminum
-

. Can sustain UV protection.
A cheaper solution to solid aluminum that still
offers the strength necessary in aluminum applications.



ANY sheet material can be used depending on preference. We can assemble skins by order, or ship
out cores

for millworkers to add skins to

themselves. S

cement benches, as well as fiberglass. This reduces
the costs of

expensive materials, while still
offering

lightweight strength.

Glue
-

We use urethane glue in our honeycomb production. It’s stronger and bonds better than other glues, which
commonly contain formaldehyde contents. We do not use formaldehyde glue because of the toxic health
hazards it has been linked to.
Urethane

allows us to produce a safer

SHP is easy to machine and can be cut just like solid wood. It does not require a special saw or a
smooth cutting surface.



SHP makes it easy to apply edge banding. Any edge banding machine and regular cutting tools
can be used to apply the most beautiful edge.



SHP can be edge glued to any width and butt joint to any length without having to be planed. It
can also be sanded j
ust like solid wood.
