Getting Autonomous
status

is highly challenging
for any institute. This
academic
year RGMCET will
become an
Autonomous

Institute. The autonomous
status

will enhance the prestige of the institute in all
aspects at the same time accountability will be
more
. I feel that RGMCET with such a long journey
of 15 years is capable of managing the autonomy.

The yester sem
ester was full of vigor with
numerous events. Faculty is the real crux for the
institute and the success of the institute depends on
faculty. Consequently
,

a 6 Day training program
was held for faculty on pedagogy by NITT
T
R,
Hyderabad. A unique workshop on

‘ROBOTR
O
N
IX

was organized on gigantic lines
to enlighten the students about the latest trends of
technology.

The academic performance and campus recruitment
of the students are quite satisfactory. More than 2
40
students were placed in different companies. The
institute is moving ahead with innovative live
projects which are reputable for the institute. In
M
echanical
Branch
eleven live projects were
completed

successfully. Research
culture

is
consistently increasi
ng in the campus.

The up
-
coming semester is packaged with
enormous promises and opportunities. Hope we will
succeed in all our endeavors

Business or professional ethics are standards or
codes of conduct set by people in a specific
profession. A
code of ethics

is a part of the
expectations of those involved in many

different types of professions. By setting out
expected behaviors in the form of professional
ethics, professionals work together to try to
uphold a good reputation.

Evaluating Ethical Actions

Actions can be evaluated using a variety of
tests
such as th
ose suggested by Michael Davis,
Carl Skooglund, Patricia Harper, Jimmy Smith
and others.

Harm Test
-

Do the benefits outweigh
the harms, short term and long term?

Reversibility Test
-

Would I think this
was a good choice if I traded places?

Colleague Test
-

What would my
professional colleagues say?

Legality Test
-

Would my choice
violate a law or policy of my employer?

The Self
-
Respect Test
-

How will I feel
about myself after making this choice?

But all these tests promote decisions based on
how we “feel”

about what we do. However, the
best decision is to “Do the right thing because it
is the right thing to do.”

Ethics are vital steps for excellence.

,

What is
i
mportant for Ethical Leaders?

Foster an environment of “Trust”
among individuals in the
w
orkplace…

Treat everyone as intrinsically
valuable…

Leaders need to develop that guidance
on ethical dilemmas is available from a
variety of sources.

Saina Nehwal

Saina Nehwal

is undoubtedly the most
promising sport star India has to offer to the
world today. The 19
-
year
-
old from Hyderabad
is nothing short of a prodigy who has carved
her niche as the best Indian woman shuttle
player India has seen till date.

Saina Nehwal

was born on March 17, 1990, at
Hissar, Haryana. Both her father, Dr. Harvir
Singh and mother Usha Rani were former State
Badminton Champions in Haryana, so she got
the game of Badminton in her genes.

Currently ranked number 2 in the world by
Badminton World Federation
, Saina is the first
Indian girl to reach the singles quarterfinals at
the Olympics and the first Indian to win the
World Junior Badminton Championships
.
Saina
Nehwal made history on June 21, 2009,
becoming the first Indian to win a Super Series
tournament, by clinching

the
Indonesia Open

with a stunning victory over higher
-
ranked
Chinese Lin Wang in
J
akarta
.

Her coach Pullela Gopichand described Saina's
feat as monumental. "If I am not wrong only
Prakash sir has won back
-
to
-
back international
titles. The reason for her good show is her
superior fitness.”

As a person saina

is very optimistic, she often
criticizes her own game pointing out her own
errors made during a game. She is not at all
snobbish and open to learning and her self
admits her lack of experience in winning some
games. How ever, on court she is aggressive
an
d gets her opponent cracking quickly. India
may have produced a galaxy of sports stars but
saina is indeed the most promising of all of
them.

Bringing Grace to E
d
ucation

,

Any satisfactory system of education should
aim at a balanced growth of the individual
and insist on both knowledge and wisdom.

It should not only train the intellect but bring
grace in to the heart of man.

Wisdom is more easily gained through study
of literature, philosophy and religion.

If we do not have a general philosophy or
attitude of life, our minds will be confused,
a
nd we will suffer from greed, anxiety and
defection.

Mental slums are more dangerous to mankind
than material slums

-
Dr.S.Radhakrishna

Ifs
of Life

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,

Or walk with kings
-

nor lose the common touch;

If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;

If all men count with you, but none too much;

If you can fill the unforgiving minute

With sixty seconds' worth of distance run
-

Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,

And
-

which is more
-

you
'll be a Man my son!
