The architectural

failure analysis

of two story villa
.



Scope


The owner of a
recently constructed
villa
requested a full engineering evaluation to his
resident
ial structure

after
a
disagreement
with
the
contractor

over construction issues
.
The

preliminary
analysis

revealed that
the
existing
villa
design is
inefficient
due to some bad architectural
decisions.
For
instance, one bathroom is placed above the guest
room
and far away from t
he main draining system
resulting in unpleasant sound and smell and
penetration through
a
major beam to
approach

the
water system
. The dining room is so small and
the
owner requested to find a solution to increase size.
The exterior design of the villa ne
eds to be renovated
and find a solution for small balconies which are so
small for
usage

and
cannot be left abandoned
.

Architectural plans need to be revisited and suggest
renovation plans.
