Howto
Setup basicportal updated 10/22/02 build .7b


Prerequisites:


JDK 1.4 Installed (We are moving to IBM 1.3 later)

Tomcat 4.04 Installed or 4.18

Postgresql Installed and DB created


1.

Download basicportal.war from sourceforge


3.

Copy basicp
ortal.war to webapps folder in your tomcat distribution. Start Tomcat let it
autodeploy. Stop Tomcat


4.

Follow the instructions in README.postgres in the /db folder. This will setup the postgres
database for basicportal. Note, if you don't have the

postgres database on localhost then
follow additional steps below


5.

Start Tomcat if not started and browse to
http://localhost:8080/basicportal
, follow link to
portal

red if database is not local or not using bpuser

Edit the following section in securityfilter

config.xml in /WEB

INF to match your database
settings
