"New Approaches to socially engaged creative practice”

This
European project will involve European structures from 6 countries, the main aim is

the
exploration and dissemination of new and innovative approaches to socially engaged
creative practice. Countries involved will be France, Belgium, Italy, England, Lithuania and
Croatia. Drawing upon a broad scope of approaches including performance,
art, music,
creative thinking and entrepreneurship the project will explore new and innovative
approaches to creative and cultural social engagement and audience development with
an overall objective to produce new innovative approaches and methods by the
cross
fertilisation of ideas and practices from the partners. We will create a universal 'how to'
handbook that can be easily used by individuals and organisations working across the fields
of art, culture, social care, education etc.. We will use mentorin
g and peer to peer learning
throughout the project, as well as working closely alongside the learners / local inhabitants so
that their needs are helping to direct the project.. This program will cover four types of target
groups. Learners, trainers, crea
tive professionals/artists and social mediators. It will also include
Professionals and staff from cultural centres, managers of theatre / dance companies, arts
and cultural organisations and those who offer creative and cultural activities to local public
s
/ inhabitants.

"Ulysses' Gaze: Stories of Migration Through East
-
European Cinematography”

The project "Ulysses' Gaze: Stories of Migration through East
-
European Cinematography" aims
to tackl
e the topic of migration from Eastern to Western European countries through a cycle
of film projections followed by debates linked to the this topic and by further contributions on
an Internet platform. The partners of this project intend to introduce thei
r learners to the
cinema of Eastern and Central Europe and of the Balkans, and particulary to the issues
revolving around migration. The project will be supported by a blog for the whole duration of
the programme and the most relevant comments will be inte
grated within an e
-
book. The
Ulysses project consist of:
-
14 European network events involving film projections followed by
debates organised by each partner in the home country on a regular basis during a two
-
year
period (2013
-
2015);
-

brainstorms on migr
ation and cultural heritage through debates
following the projections, animated by academics, writers, specialists and filmmakers, both
with language teachers/trainers/animators of the associations involved in the project;
-
clear
references provided by the

moderators of the debates to the issue of European inclusion and
of migration within the EU, such as intercultural exchanges in the last 20 years. The partners
involved in the project are both Eastern and Western European associations whose main
objective

is to stimulate the general public's interest in the heritage, history and culture of the
Eastern and Central Europe and of th
e Balkans: EuropaNova (BE), Dom Spotkań z Historią (PL),

"Rural Heritage Promoter”

"faire
-
ensemble" et de la co
-
construction d'actions locales sur un ter
ritoire, intégrant les
populations (jeunes, demandeurs d'emploi, seniors).

"Creating Captivating Teaching Strategies for Vulnerable Learners”

The project brings together partners who, in their particular contexts and in their learning /
teaching practises, have to cope with
practical educational issues involving persons
belonging to vulnerable or disadvantaged groups. It addresses the methodological issue of
creating and using adapted educational games for these target groups (T
-
G). It recognises
that adults learn by making s
ense of their personal experiences and that reflection can
change or transform meaning perspectives and schemes. The THINK TANK initiative expresses
a conviction that playful activities and enjoyable teaching practices are techniques that can
help trainers

to be more at ease with their learners and at the same time facilitate personal
growth, and integration of the latter on cognitive, affective, and behavioural grounds. They
increase emotional and social well
-
being and enhance learning and creativity. At t
he same
time the project acknowledges the necessity of:
-

adapting educational strategies that have
proved efficient in the past to new environments and conditions in several difficult contexts
(stress, conflict, workload, etc.).
-

providing trainers w
ith adequate educational tools in order
to stimulate a sense of belonging to a community as active citizens amongst their learners.
-

re
-
motivate trainers and attribute value to their work by using efficient and gratifying
pedagogical practices.
-

rea
ssessing the virtues of so
-
called outdated teaching methods
such as role plays (RP) photo language (PL) and educational games (EG). The partnership
wishes to engage people in varying European contexts who will disclose their personal
involvement concernin
g their preoccupations for trainers and staff confronted to vulnerable
target groups.

Fieldwork methods of social anthropology to promote civic, cultural and
intercultural education”

The proje
ct gathers professionals of non
-
formal education, social anthropologists, society
museums curators, artists, social workers, civic and intercultural education professionals who

are looking for new pedagogical tools aiming at valorising cultural diversity,
including diversity
of heritage and cultural expressions, in order to answer to the needs of multicultural contexts
and foster inclusion. The partners assume that the social anthropological approach
strengthens citizenship in European societies by valoris
ing the cultural heritage in its own
diversity, questioning stereotypes, strengthening the sense of belonging in community and
promoting the intercultural, intergenerational dialogue. The project aims to raise awareness
among professionals from civic and

cultural and intercultural education, museums and social
work in the use of pedagogical tools stemming from social anthropology, to strengthen links
between social, cultural and educational institutions and to promote respect of the cultural
diversity by
valorising the heritage in its own diversity on local, regional and national levels.
The partnership will adapt the contemporary anthropological approach and methods to
different pedagogical settings, will develop tools and a training concept based on this

approach. These tools will be based on social anthropology whose main characteristic is the
ethnographic method, meaning the fieldwork and the observation of cultural practices from
an insider’s perspective. The ethnographic method combines the observatio
n, description
and questioning of contemporary cultural environments together with the historical
approaches and heritages in museums and other cultural institutions.

"Culture without borders. Cultural heritage in
multicultural environment.”

The Grundtvig Learning Partnership “Culture without borders. Culture in multicultural
environment" with five participating institutions from Poland, Germany, Belgium, Turkey and
Spain wants to establish a multilateral dialog on

the variety of approaches to informal cultural
education in the European context. Each of the partner organizations will contribute its point
of view, experience and knowledge from the different sectors regarding the development of
the projects of widely
understood cultural education addressed to different target groups
and having as subject both cultural heritage and ways of cultural and artistic expression and
possible connection between them. The fields of the the activities realized by the
organization

serve as contents for informal cultural education designed for various target
groups of adults. Therefore, the partnership wants to exchange experiences on how each
partner adjusts his educational activities to the particular needs of the respective adult

learners. An important goal of this partnership is to create an added value throughout the
European cooperation, to achieve a positive impact on each partner organization and to
close an intercultural gap between the partners by learning different cultur
al specifics in
educational approaches. The partnership will also contribute to enrichment of cultural
awareness. The participants of this partnership will be staff members of the partner
organizations working in the field of informal artistic and cultura

meetings will be organized and four products will be created

a short documentary film, a

l’inclusion sociale, etc. sur les intérêts privés; répartition équitable des revenus de production;

etc.).
partenaires.
ncipales
thématiques abordées seront les suivantes : 1. Les semences paysannes et la préservation de
la biodiversité; 2. Les pratiques agroécologiques; 3. La coopération entre les producteurs, les
consommateurs et les autres parties prenantes; 4. Les fact
eurs de développement de

"Learning More, Growing Less”

As a follow
-
up to the Grundtvig Learning Partnership project "Farming the Future", a
coalition
of civil society (CS) and academic entities proposes an innovative answer to the ecologial
and economic crises. It engages agroecology practioners, degrowth theoreticians and CS
organisations in educational activities. The project will fill a gap
, providing a course linking
these stakeholders. Modular curricula on sustainable degrowth, encompassing the three
branches (theory, practice and politics), will expand and integrate a collection of existing
courses and experiences. In order to achieve a l
arge multiplicative effect, a special train
-
the
-
trainer (TTT) module will also be developed. The core and TTT modules will both be piloted.
International meetings will involve all partners in planning and refining these modules for
dissemination. Each part
ner institution will contribute with an additional module in its area of
expertise. The partnership will generate a large number of mobilities between partner
institutions from Southern, Central and Eastern Europe. Learners desiring further formation as
in
ternational degrowth trainers can attend additional courses at partner institutions. Trainers
will become part of a European
-
wide pool, such that CSOs or local initiatives, as well as
educational institutions, can access qualified local trainers for their
specific needs. The course
will be supported by an open

"Brea

The project idea developed from the positive experiences of a previous partnership from
which emerged the effectiveness of drama as a means for enhancing educational, personal,
socio
-
cultural and civic growth for both the detainees and the pr
ison staff (ie. guards ,
educators, social workers, volunteers). This project widens the net somewhat and aims to
disseminate, implement and test best practices (as indicated by the past project),
comparing how effective prison theater is a means to:
-

Im
prove the expressive abilities and
relationship skills of the prisoners, thus fostering the integration of different ethnic groups living
within prisons and facilitating the reintegration of detainees after release;
-

Improve language
skills, using drama a
s a support and assistance to literacy programs;
-

Combine and

coordinate efforts of Public Institutions and the Third Sector in tackling social problems, and
promote endeavors aimed at improving social relations between the prison population and
broader s
ociety. Equally important will be the actions in support of prison staff in their
educational role. The staff is in fact often unprepared for the educational and other new
challenges presented as a consequence of the European Union
-

new rules and skills ar
e
needed to meet the changing requisites of prisons in this post EU era. Our project partnership

"Links
United for Coma Awakenings”

The partnership will exchange experience and good practice in the field of formal, non
-
formal or informal learning of people awakened from a coma with acquired disabilities and
people accompanying them in the new project life (
family members, volunteers, experts).
LUCA partners are subjects (training institutions, research centers, associations and groups of
family members and volunteers) that accompany people with acquired disabilities due to
brain injury and a coma, to redesig
n their own family, social and work life. They also teach to
family members, professionals, volunteers and, more generally, citizenship and institutions, to
play an active role for promoting the citizenship rights of people with disabilities. Starting from

the comparison of best practices, implemented by partners, common Guidelines will be
produced for training, consulting and coaching of people awakened from a coma as well as
their family members/caregivers and volunteers. In particular, the partners will
focus the
discussion and the production of common guidelines on the issues of the rights of persons with
disabilities, the role of associations representing the family, the quality standards in the
therapeutic facilities and in returning at home, the metho
dologies for social and employment
reintegration. The Partnership will provide the 1st core of the “International Network of
Awakenings" and will launch the first European Day of Awakenings, on the example of the
consolidated experience of the Association
“Gli Amici di Luca” and of the Centre for
Research on the coma

Polish origin who are active in various
organizations in different countries in the EU. One of the
goals of all the partners is to support the process of social integration of the immigrants with
the citizens of the countries they live in and to raise public awareness of the necessity of the
mut

according to its own conception. The goal of the project is to learn an impleme
nt methods,
forms and tools of educating adults which are practiced in the partner countries in order to
successfully achieve the common goal their own environment. In the phase of project
planning, the partners learnt about the methods, forms and educatio
n tools used in different
countries and they decided about the range of the exchange. Each partner shares their own
experience in carrying out projects the other partners want to implement within their activity,

learning this way the ideas of the others wh

A European Network for the Development of Successful Young Cooperative
Entrepreneurs”

Learning how to bec
ome a successful entrepreneur is very difficult nowadays: economic
trends are unforeseeable, the credit crunch limits risk
-
taking businesses, creativity is often
lacking among disoriented and disenfranchised youth. The cooperative business model has
been e
valuated as more resilient to carry out entrepreneurial activities in a sustainable way.
Cooperatives are better because they offer participation through ownership, which makes
them inherently more engaging, more productive, and both more useful and more r
elevant
to the contemporary world. The cooperative business model fosters greater economic, social
and environmental sustainability. Coopstarter's objective is to create tools to effectively train
young entrepreneurs in setting up sustainable cooperative b
usinesses at European level,
through the creation of common training and education standards and common curricula
applicable by different cooperative organizations throughout Europe. Through a number of
exchange visits and workshops, partners will establis
h the best curriculum to support and assist
young entrepreneurs in the development of successful cooperatives, contributing to solve the
vast unemployment issue at EU level. Other supporting tools will also be developed and the
communication and cooperatio
n between umbrella organizations will be intensified.
Coopstarter as a first step towards the creation of a durable bond between partner
organizations fostering innovative activities and collaborations. Partner organizations intend

to enrich Coopstarter ne

"Empowe
ring Processes for Older People in their care settings”

The Learning Partnership ‘Empowering Processes for Older People in their Care Settings’
emerged out of a shared interest of eight participating organisations from countries from
Romania, Switzerland,

Turkey, Germany, Ireland, Belgium (2) and United Kingdom. The
organisations represent a diverse range of scope and reach in their work with older people
(regional providers of adult education; providers of professional education; significant
providers of
direct services for older people; national umbrella and representative
organisations and an academic/research focused organisation). This diversity and
uniqueness provides a stimulating opportunity to mirror within a learning partnership the span
of size t
hat is encountered in European and Country settings when deliberating as to how to
transfer local knowledge to the policy level and as to how to transfer innovation up and
down systems. There is a shared understanding amongst the partners that older peopl
e,
carers, care practitioners, service providers and educators need knowledge, innovation and
sharing of good practice in relation to processes that empower older people to remain
active and independent in care settings, both formal and informal, of their
choice as long as
possible and that promote respect, dignity and autonomy of older people. The Learning
Partnership places and equal focus on learner and pedagogical objectives for (1) older
people and learners and (2) staff, providers and educators; thou
gh 100 mobility’s over a
series of eight country visits, involving around 800 participants within the partner organisations.

"Learning to be Happy”

The

main aim of this project is to strengthen the daily life of people in difficult life situations
and to develop a non
-
formal course to help these people to foster confidence in their
abilities, and to promote active participation. Due to the socioeconomic
crisis many
European citizens have to face economic hardship and thus have to cope with unwelcome
changes in their lives such as unemployment, job insecurity or the lack of sufficient wages.
These problems are strongly linked to health problems, anxiety di
sorders and depression. The
Learning
-

educational
-
learning domain involved in supporting people living in vulnerable social
contexts. The consortium is composed of 17 partners across
Europe which includes non

cultural associations, EU learning and educational providers, universities as well as
municipalities. Every partner organisation will work in stakeholder setups such as social welfare
services and psychologists. They will s
upport our organisations in the collection of best
practices that will lead to the development of a non
-
formal course. This course will provide a
number of creative and comprehensive approaches to help disadvantaged people help
themselves and thus improve

their daily life conditions. A tutorial section will be available
where best practices will be shared. Furthermore, it will include a video biography channel
where people affected personally talk about how they deal with the situation. The course
and all

materials will be integrated into an open source platform, free and accessible to
everyone. All the partners will promote the content through different social media and word

Unies) en particulier l'art 29
-

Enfin FORCA a
sociale.

"Communitek: Melting Distances”

The objective of “COMMUNITEK: Melting Distances” is to take full advantage of the enriching
opportunities that a European multilateral learning project opens up for students, teachers,
adult education institutions and, ultimately, the communities which they all reflect. More
specifically, we want to cooperate to bridge the distances between cultu
res and languages
with the use of computer
-
mediated communication and through face
-
to
-
face meetings with
our partners. Our proposal for a Grundtvig Partnership has been thought out on the basis of a
task
-
centred approach. All through the project, students
will cooperate to learn together and
to grow into better European citizens by creating different products such as a cross
-
cultural
recipe book, a multilingual dictionary and video clips portraying their everyday lives
-

all of
which demand an active role o
f every participant and a good deal of critical thinking and
open
-
mindedness. Some participants will have the opportunity to visit their partners and work
with them in situ, and the teachers involved will have a channel at their disposal for sharing
teachi
ng methods, exchanging experiences and growing professionally. By the end of this
two
-
year
-
long journey, all participants will have enhanced their key competences for lifelong
learning
-

particularly the communicative, the social and civic, the digital, an
d the learning
-
to
-
learn competence
-

and they will have acquired a first
-
hand knowledge of their fellow
travellers’ culture, an increased respect for diversity and also an appreciation of minority
languages. Their foreign language skills will have been put

to the test in real, meaningful

communication with other people, and all project results and outcomes will be disseminated
at a local, national and European level.
