Jane’s Police Review Gala Awards Nominations

A discussion on suitable nominees
for these awards
took place
, however,
it was
agreed
that no nominations from West Downs would be put forward. Chief Supt Voice said he
would res
pond to T/Superintende
nt Honnor to that effect.

Status 2 Reduction

Supt Miller said that on 1 April 2011 the migration of Status 2s will commence from NRT to
the RITs and all officers need to ensure that although there is a fine balance to be struck, i
t
is important to have as few investigations as possible carried over after 1 April.

Bail Diary:

CI Bartlett agreed to liaise with DI Dave Richards (Prosecution Team) regarding bail dates
being set during the first week of April. He will also update

the Merger team and ensure
this is recorded as an action for DI Walker.

MINT Data Accuracy

The new IVR system (automated voice recognition call routing system) will soon be
accessible for use by all divisions and departments using the internal networ
k

which is
reliant on accurate contact information. West Downs Division has just under 66% accuracy
on MINT against 64% for the force. Chief Supt Voice requested that each command team
member check their own information on SAP for accuracy and ensure that

their
staff
do the
same.

requested that the command team ensure that

is
triggered
through the end of
year PDR meetings

HR
Issues
:

Jayne Bright reported that there had been a steady increase in sickness amongst PCSOs
since December 2010. However, police officer sickness has reduced. Those on long term
sick leave and attendance management were discussed.


There then
followed a discussion on officers transferring from Headquarters to the division.
Supt Miller stated that there are no vacancies for non operational officers on division.
Jayne Bright agreed to provide an update on the principle behind the decision to tr
ansfer
officers to divisions from HQ.

No transfers should take place without a Superintendent’s
authority.


Currently there is one discipline investigation ongoing on the division, one grievance and
two people
are
suspended.


Jayne Bright reported that
on 28 March 2011 Sacha Pawley will become the Lead HR
Consultant for both current divisions and then the new West Sussex Division. Jayne will
have responsibility for some HQ departments.

Chief Supt Voice acknowledged Jayne’s
work and thanked her for her
continued
contribution and support.


Chief Insp Jenkins gave an update on the displaced officers and a lengthy discuss
ion

took
place on this.

In Sally Chart’s absence, Chief Supt Voice said that
West Downs Division has a

projec

under spend of £300,000

at year end
. Overtime is
also
on track
.


A timeline

of moves and changes
in preparation for the new division
has been

prepared
and will be circulated to the command team by Chief Supt Voice.

level of
commitment in achieving
the
performance targets, particularly around all injury violence. Chief Supt Voice also said that
West Downs’ performance
received a favourable mention
at the
recent
Performance
Accountabilit
y Meeting at HQ.

Merger Update

Supt Miller gave an update on how the merger of West and North Downs was prog
ressing.
A table top exercise will be taking place next week to iron out any

unanticipated

issues.



Chief Supt Voice said that this would be the last West Downs Divisional Command Team
meeting
prior to the merger with North Downs
and thanked everyone fo
r their commitment
and support, particularly through the recent challenging times.
