Introduction to SAM


What is SAM?


The System for Award Management (SAM) is combining federal
procurement systems and the Catalog of Federal Domestic
Assistance into one new system.


What are the benefits of SAM?


The overarching benefits of SAM include streamlined and
integrated processes, elimination of data redundancies, and
reduced costs while providing improved capability.

Actions for Contractors


Contractors previously registered in CCR and ORCA are
registered in SAM. To access registration:

Individual Account

in SAM


Log

in and click “Yes” when asked if you would like to “migrate a
legacy system account



Contractors NOT previously registered in CCR and
OCRA may create a new registration in SAM. To register:

“Register/Update Entity”

Conducting Searches in SAM


Users may search by company name, DUNS number, or
CAGE code

results may be filtered by Record Status, Entity

What is DSBS?


Self certifying, interactive database that allows small businesses
registered in SAM to post an expanded profile and capabilities
information for prospective buyers


What are the benefits of DSBS?


DSBS is
a
tool contracting officers
and prime contractors can
use
to identify potential small business contractors for upcoming
contracting opportunities. Small businesses can also use DSBS
to identify other small businesses for teaming and joint venturing
.
