Description

An established, privately
-
held company headquartered in Kortrijk, Be
l-
gium, EnergyICT has in
ternational offices in E
urope, Australia, and the US.
EnergyICT is a global leader in providing IT (Information Technology), CT
(Communication Technology) solutions
,

and energy data and meter data
management services to all businesses in today's liberaliz
ed energy ma
r-
kets.

EnergyICT's Energy Suppliers business unit focuses on companies looking
to manage their own or their customers' energy
-
consuming processes based
on load balancing contracts and real
-
time energy consumption data. Multi
-
site demand respon
se solutions that allow customers to reduce energy costs
are part of this business unit's portfolio. Companies served by this bus
i
ness
unit include energy suppliers/retailers and energy service providers.

As a provider of advanced energy monitoring and co
ntrol systems, Ene
r-
g
y
ICT offers software and hardware systems used by both Demand
Response (DR) program administrators and program participants. Specif
i-
cally d
e
signed for DR programs for commercial or industrial loads,
EnergyICT's RTU+ V6 EM/DR along with

EIServer EMS provides a co
m-
plete solution for DR o
p
erations.

The RTU+ V6 EM/DR data logger is ideal for collecting and transmitting
real
-
time energy consumption data required for DR. This device has 32
channels (4x8) available for communication with met
ering devices with
channels that can be used either as inputs or as outputs
-
enabling two
-
way
communication for DR. The RTU+ V6 EM/DR transmits energy data in
various ways including GSM/GPRS, LAN, or RS 485/232. Consumption
data of any type (electricity,
gas, oxygen, nitrogen, etc...) can be sent to the
central repository in real
-
time.

EIServer EMS with its Demand Response Module provides a repository
specifically designed to receive, store and analyze the real
-
time data r
e-
ceived from RTU+ V6 devices. On
ce a control event is scheduled, the
EIServer Demand Response Module can send active or passive control si
g-
nals to DR participants to act upon. When implemented with the RTU+ V6,
the EIServer Demand Response Module can perform sophisticated real
-
time cont
rol algorithms that control end customer loads within and b
e-
tween f
a
cilities.

In addition to advanced control capabilities, EIServer also provides DR pa
r-
ticipants with up to the minute load and baseline inform
a
tion via a web
browser. With EIServer EMS,
participants have the ability to verify their
contractual compliance and visualize their DR rebates as a co
n
trol event is
occurring. System administrators also benefit by monitoring all partic
i-
pants load data individually or aggregated by any predefined v
ar
i
able.

EIServer provides all the necessary processing and reporting capabilities to
calculate rebates or incentives once an event has occurred, which can be
automatically exported to a customer billing systems for final credit to pa
r-
ticipants. EIServer
's flexible reporting and graphical capabilities allows
program administrators to generate detailed or summary reports on pr
o-
gram activities.

EnergyICT's EpIO is a metering and communication device designed to be
linked to an energy meter. It is the fina
l node before the meter
-

an en
d-
point. The EpIO collects the metered data and transmits it wirelessly to a
nearby concentrator. The device is easy to install, requires no external
power and needs no extra cabling. The EpIO uses mesh
-
networking tec
h-
nolog
y which allows each EpIO device to act as a signal amplifier,
increasing its range to medium distance.

Each of EnergyICT's AMI products can be used stand
-
alone or with pro
d-
ucts from other vendors. But the true value of the products comes from
their seaml
ess integration with each other, allowing for a complete meter
-
to
-
invoice system.
