Introduction


“PHP” is an acronym for “PHP: Hypertext
Preprocessor.”


It is an interpreted, server

side scripting
language.


Originally designed for web development.


Syntax is similar to C, Perl.


Similar languages are Perl, ASP.NET, Ruby, JSP
(JavaServer Pages)
