Thomas A. Stewart, is set to make a welcome return to the sixth annual Knowledge
Management Asia event to be h
eld on 7
-
9 November 2006 in Singapore (www.kmasia.com).

“We have never had a repeat speaker that was able to address the economic value of
knowledge in business strategy with as much honesty and conviction,” said Ms Nilay
Gencturk, General Manager of Ark
Group Asia in Singapore.

“This is a complicated and difficult subject but it is now more important than ever and it
seems to me that Thomas Stewart’s previous address to Knowledge Management Asia
was a premonition of things to come. Aside from some of th
e work of Prof Gary S. Becker,
there are few such courageous thinkers in this space.”

As editor of the Harvard Business Review, Mr Stewart is on the pulse of the latest
developments in the business world. As a former member of the Board of Editors of
For
tune magazine, Mr Stewart, author of Intellectual Capital: The New Wealth of
Organisations and The Wealth of Knowledge: Intellectual Capital and the Twenty
-
first
Century Organisation, pioneered the field of intellectual capital and knowledge
management. Mr

Stewart, a Fellow of the World Economic Forum, served as a judge for
the Republic of Singapore’s inaugural Innovation Award.

Mr Stewart has won a number of awards including the American Society for Training and
Developments Champion of Workplace Learning

and Performance Award; Business
Intelligence’s inaugural Knowledge Management Awareness Award.

Joining Thomas A. Stewart at Knowledge Management Asia 2006 will be Leif Edvinsson,
former Vice President and Corporate Director of Intellectual Capital at Ska
ndia one of the
worlds leading independent providers of long
-
term saving solutions dating back to 1855.
Leif was responsible for producing the worlds first Intellectual Capital Annual Report,
communicating the value of knowledge to investment community.

Also joining Mr Stewart and Leif Edvinsson will be Dave Snowden, a pioneer in the
application of narrative as a means of knowledge disclosure in the world of business.
Building on that work Snowden has developed advanced techniques for the management
of kn
owledge based on models derived from complexity science.

“It is a welcome sight to see Tom return to Knowledge Management Asia. His calibre and
experience will help build on the continuing success of this event over the past five
years,” said Dave Snowde
n, Emeritus Director of Knowledge Management Asia 2006.
