Adding a TCP/IP Printer
1
1. Unpack the printer and plug it in.
2. Install the ink cartridge and load paper.
3. Connect the printer to the network.
4. Use the technical documentation to set the network IP address.
5. Print a test page.
6. Click Start to display the Start menu (Figure 1).

7. Select Printers and Faxes from the Settings menu to display the Printers and Faxes list
(Figure 2).

8. Select Add Printer to launch the Add Printer Wizard (Figure 3).

9. Select Next.

10. Click Next, accepting the default of Local Printer.

11. Select Create a new port.
12. Select Standard TCP IP Port from the list.
13. Click Next.

15. Type the IP Address assigned in Step 4.
16. Click Next.

17. Review the summary dialog for accuracy; as necessary, use the back button to go back
and correct errors.
18. Click Finish. The Install Printer Software dialog (Figure 9) displays.

19. Select the Manufacturer to filter the Printers list.
20. Select the Printer.
21. Click Next. The Name Your Printer dialog (Figure 10) displays.

22. Type the Printer name (This will be used in the $I field in the Device File).
23. At Do you want to use this printer as the default printer, select No.
24. Click Next.

25. Type a Location (preferably something that will make this printer easy to identify).
26. Type any needed Comment.
27. Click Next.

28. Select Yes to print a test page.
29. Click Next.

30. Review the summary dialog for accuracy; as necessary, use the back button to go back

31. Click Finish.
