Deepwater Technology & Field Development

Vietnam’s offshore E&P projects have so far been concentrated in shallow water reserves;
however, there is great potential in the relatively unexplored deepwater Phu
Khanh Basin.
Vietnam

similar to other deepwater E&P newcomers

must deal with high drilling costs,
heightened safety regulations in the aftermath of the Macondo incident and the lack of
experienced personnel.

Our specialized workshop aims to confront th
ese challenges and proposes solutions to make
deepwater E&P a commercially and technically viable business.

Production Sharing Contracts, Joint Ventures & Partnerships

Vietnam is one of the world’s leading oil exporter countries with lucrative offshore
reserves
and great business opportunities for oil and gas majors. However, the country’s Petroleum
Law and related decrees detail stringent legal requirements for entering Vietnam’s offshore
market. This includes participation in the government’s petroleum

licensing rounds and the
establishment of Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs) or Joint Venture Agreements with the
Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (’PetroVietnam’).

With first
-
hand experience in advising on Vietnamese PSCs, our expert workshop leaders will
pres
ent legal know
-
how to assist you in Vietnam’s complex oil and gas market.
