Creating a Data Source for Your Web Page
1. Type the following URL into your web browser’s address location:
2. Type in your ColdFusion Administrator password (the password you set when
you installed ColdFusion MX) and click on the “Login” button.
3. Click on “Data Sources” under “DATA & SERVICES” in the navigation menu on
the left hand side of the screen.
4. Type “PLCDynamicWeb” into the textbox for “Data Source Name”.
5. Select “Microsoft Access” from the drop down list under “Please select a valid
driver type.”
6. Click on the “Add” button.
7. Click on the “Browse Server” button to the right hand side of the “Database File”
textbox. Note: Make sure you click on the button for “Database File” and not the
button for “System Database File”.
8. Double click on the “C:\” drive icon.
9. Double click on the “C:\Inetpub” folder.
10. Double click on the “C:\Inetpub\wwwroot” folder.
11. Double click on the “C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\plcdynamicweb” folder.
12. Double click on the “dynamicweb.mdb” Microsoft Access database file.
13. Click on the “Apply” button.
14. Click on the “Submit” button.
15. You should now see a message stating: “datasource updated successfully.”
The ColdFusion MX server will now recognize your database file as one that it can
interact with!
