Overview

1.1

Primary Objective

Build the necessary skills and confidence to allow attendees to deliver the vCloud Accelerator Advanced
service offering,
and by default, the vCloud Accelerator Standard and vCloud Jumpstart.

1.2

Approach

Provide hands
-
on lab scenario based training leveraging real world use cases delivered by the Cloud
COE team. All attendees will attend a high level review to level set vCloud
knowledge to include
networking, vShield Edge configuration via UI, and vCenter Chargeback supporting vCloud.

Attendees will be divided into two groups by role, Architect and Consultant, and receive role specific
instruction based on the requirements of de
livery of a vCloud Accelerator Advanced. All instruction will
be hands on to the extent possible. Upon completion, attendees will have demonstrated their
understanding of the products and the Service Delivery by delivering all or portions of the vCloud
A
ccelerator Advanced Deliverables.

1.3

Target Audience

This is a 300
-
400 level course. Attendees should have prior exposure to vCloud via participation on
engagements or via self
-
study. Attendees are expected to understand the fundamental abstractions of
vClo
ud Director prior to attending this course.

2.

Prerequisites

Each Boot Camp attendee
must

be able to present the following
content

from the vCloud
Fundamentals

Service De
livery Kit upon arrival at the boot c
amp:

A02 vCloud Overview: all slides

A03 vCloud
Architecture: all slides

A04 vCloud Setup: slides 1
-
18

Attendees will be called upon to present
a subset of
any of these
slide
decks to their peers

and
their
management on the first day of the boot camp. Attendees should also be prepared to answer questio
ns
during their presentations that are representative of the questions a customer may ask during actual
delivery of this service.

vCloud Service Delivery Kits:

https://www.gosavo.
com/vmware/CustomPage/View.aspx?id=861542

Attendees should have a tested and properly functioning logon to the vSEL 2.0. A brief overview of vSEL
usage and vPod architecture will be provided; however, it is important that all attendees have verified
their

ability to logon to vSEL 2.0 prior to arrival at the boot camp to avoid any delays or disruption to lab

participation.
Attendees must

s
end an email
to the
jmcginn@vmware.com

at least one week prior to the
first d
ay of their boot camp
to confirm their access and
to
provide the name of their vSEL

2.0
organization.

If necessary, upon receipt of this email, attendees may receive a response with any
additional steps that need to be completed prior to the commencement of this course, such as pre
-
deployment of vPods to be used during labs.
