!

DME hel ps you stay connected wi th your corporate

mai l, cal endar, and contacts any ti me. What you see on your
Androi d devi ce i s what you have on your desktop or

l aptop computer at the offi ce.

nobody can get to your data.

GETTIN
G STARTED WITH DME

To start usi ng DME, you need to get the DME app from Googl e Pl ay Store fi rst.

1.

Open the

Store on your

devi ce. Search for "DME" usi ng the search box.

DME asks you for your user name and password.
These are
the same username and password that you use to
l og i n to your network. If you are usi ng Lotus Notes on your desktop computer, you need to enter your
“Internet password”. Contact your IT department i f you have probl ems wi th

DME then asks you for the
server path
. The server path has the form
dme.yourcompany.com:5011
, where
dme.yourcompany.com

i s the host name of the server where DME i s i nstal led, and

DME connects to the server you speci fi ed i n the

screen. If your username and password were correct,
DME i s i ni ti al ized for fi rst use. (
Note
: In some secure setups, the DME Admi ni strator requi res a manual veri fi cation
process before you can start synchroni zi ng.)

If the DME admi ni strator has set speci fi
c
security policies

for your devi ce, you wi l l now be
prompted to make sure your devi ce compl i es wi th these pol i ci es. You may for i nstance be taken
to the screen on your devi ce where you can speci fy a devi ce PIN code or password, where you
wi l l be gui ded to

set i t correctl y.

Some securi ty pol i ci es requi re that the DME system must
admi ni ster your devi ce. You must al l ow DME to do thi s i n order to use DME. DME shows the
fol l owi ng prompt, whi ch you must accept.

By tappi ng

Activate
, you grant DME the ri ght to adm
i ni ster your phone. Note that you cannot l og
i nto DME unti l you have done thi s.

If the l ogi n was successful, the next (and l ast) step of the setup wi zard i s shown:


Enter your phone number (DME i s not permi tted to get the number automati cal l y), and set an

unl ock pattern. Usi ng
an unl ock pattern (
swipe

pattern) to l og i n i s easi er than enteri ng your ful l network password.

D
efi ne a swi pe pattern by movi ng your fi nger verti cal l y and hori zontally across any of the 12
tiles

on the screen. Repeat. The next ti me

you l og i n to DME, you can use thi s swi pe pattern
for l oggi ng i n i nstead of your ful l network password.

Note that your DME admi ni strator has set up mi ni mum requi rements for the number of ti l es
you must swi pe to create a val i d pattern. Al so, i f you haven’t

l ogged i n for a whi l e, you may
need to l og i n usi ng your ful l network password (but after that, you can use the swi pe pattern
agai n).

mai l, cal endar, and contacts (and more) to DME on

devi ce. Your DME admi ni strator has set up an i ni ti al profi le for you, whi ch control s the

mai l s and events that are i mported to and kept synchroni zed wi th your devi ce, expressed as a number of
days.

days back, and your cal endar entri es from 7 days back ti l l 100 days

Outl ook or Lotus Notes
