Bookmark User Guide
About JV Bookmark
JV Bookmark is a Joomla! Module created by Joomlavi Group that allows
you to create bookmark buttons for your entire site or a particular page. You
can also create buttons to allow the users to bookmark your site on Google,
Facebook, Twitter, Myspace and Zingme.
Downloading JV Bookmark
After registering an account on

, you can try looking
for JV Bookmark manually by selecting ‘Joomla! Extensions’ from ‘Joomla!
Products’ drop down menu; or you can go to its download page directly
using this link:

On JV Bookmark’s download page, select the file(s) you want to download by
ticking the box in front of said file and click download. For JV Bookmark, there
are two versions for Joomla! 1.5 and Joomla! 1.7
After you have finished downloading, check to see whether it has ‘unzip_first’
in its name. If it does, remember to extract the file before installing.

Installing JV Bookmark
Go to your website’s administration page, open Extensions menu and select
Install/Uninstall (Joomla! 1.5) or Extensions Manager (Joomla! 1.7)
On “install” tab, in the ‘upload package file” section, you can either type the
path to your file into the blank field or click on ‘Browse’ to find it manually.
Click on ‘Upload File & Install’. JV Bookmark’s installation is now completed.
Activating/Publishing JV Bookmark
To activate/publish JV Bookmark, open up Module Manager from the back-
end (‘Extensions’ menu -> Module Manager)

Search for JV Bookmark by making use of the filter or looking for JV
Bookmark’s name from the select type menu.
Check whether JV Bookmark is enabled or disable. If it’s disabled, enable
by clicking on the status icon found in the ‘Enabled’ (Joomla! 1.5) or ‘Status’
(Joomla! 1.7) column. You can also enable JV Bookmark by selecting it, then
click on the ‘Enable’ button.
JV Bookmark module’s mod
Click on JV Bookmark’s name within Module Manager to enter it’s configure
boxes/menus
There are 3 Dialogue boxes/menus:
Details, Menu Assignment and Module Parameters (Joomla! 1.5)/Basic
Options (Joomla! 1.7)
Detail and Menu Assignment are Joomla! default Options boxes/menus and
won’t be focused on, just make sure you that you assigned the module to the
right position and menu item(s).

Module Parameters (Joomla! 1.5)/Basic Options (Joomla! 1.7) is the custom
menu/dialogue box and the main focus of this guide.
The parameters of Basic Options/Module Parameters are:
Show Bookmark site
: This is where you enable/disable the Bookmark
button for your site.
Show image
: This is where you enable/disable the image assigned
to your Bookmark site button. You can find and replace the image by
following this path in your source folder: modules/mod_jvbookmark/tmpl/

Show Bookmark page
: This is where you enable/disable the Bookmark
button for the current page.
Show image
: This is where you enable/disable the image assigned to
your Bookmark page button. You can find and replace the image by

Show Google Bookmark
: This is where you enable/disable the Google
Bookmark button.
Show Facebook Sharing
: This is where you enable/disable the Facebook
Sharing button.
Show Twitter Sharing:
This is where you enable/disable the Twitter
Sharing button.
Show Myspace Sharing
: This is where you enable/disable the Myspace
Sharing button.
Show Zingme Sharing
: This is where you enable/disable the Zingme
Sharing button.
Show Bookmark
: This is where you enable/disable the custom Bookmark
button.
Show image
: This is where you enable/disable the image assigned to
your Bookmark button. It share the same image file as the Bookmark
page button.
Link text
: The text that will be displayed instead of the default ‘bookmark’
Title
: The string you enter into this field will be used as the Bookmark’s
title.
Link URL
: This is where you enter the URL of the page/site you assign to
the Show Bookmark button.
Module Class Suffix
: The string you enter here will be used as this
Module’s class suffix.
The result
After you have finished setting the parameters/option, click on Save
(Joomla! 1.5) or Save & Close (Joomla! 1.7) to save and
close Module Mod, or Apply (Joomla! 1.5) or Save (Joomla!
1.7) to save without closing Module Mod.

To see the result of your setting, click on Preview (Joomla!
1.5) or View site (Joomla! 1.7).
If there is no problem with the parameters, the result should look like the
following image:
