Live Smooth Streaming represents the application of the Smooth Streaming video distribution technology to
live broadcasting and offers audiences the best possible media viewing experience. Smooth Streaming,
Microsoft’s IIS 7

and adapts stream quality to match the viewer’s client environment (connection speed, CPU performance,
etc.). Microsoft® Silverlight™,
which users install on their Web browsers, provides features that were not
available in earlier live broadcasts: The “
” feature enables viewers to go back and replay
highlights of the broadcast, and “
” enables viewers who come late to the broadcast to go back
and play the entire broadcast from the beginning.
U.S.-based Inlet Technologies is providing the latest HD live encoder, Spinnaker 7000.

we hope to expand the content distribution market for Silverlight.”
