2 Liter clear plastic soda bottle


Match


Bike Pump


Water


Thermometer

Activity Directions

1)
Place a few drops of water into your bottle.

2)
Insert a thermometer into the bottle.

3)
Light one match and blow it out. Drop the smoking
match into the bottle.

4)
Hold the rubber stopper tightly against the bottle

5)
Read/record the starting temperature.

6)
Pump up the bottle until the sides become rigid.

7)
Read/record the new temperature.

8)
Carefully remove the rubber stopper from the
bottle opening. Observe the bottle & temperature.

9)
Repeat steps 6
-
