Biokontroll Hungária KHT is a company authorized to control the
organic farming in Hungary and to issue certificates of organic
products. It was f
ounded in 1996 as an independent enterprise by the
Biokultura Society (the professional organization of the organic
farmers and manufacturers in Hungary). Biokontroll Hungaria is
certified by IFOAM and it is the largest inspection and certification
agency
in Hungary controlling more than 90 % of the market of
organic products. Along with its major controlling activities the
company participates in numerous domestic and international projects
aimed at developing new norms and standards of organic farming and

food industry. The participation in such projects gained increasing
importance after 2004 when Hungary joined the EU. The objectives of
the projects encompass stimulation and development of organic
farming and industry in Hungary as well as popularization

of organic
products. At present the company works with 1800 partners (farmers
and foodstuff manufacturers)

The main principal of our Department is education; to make students familiar with
the issues of the agricultural production. The Department belongs

organic experimental field near Budapest. There we have the most research work,

The main direction of the investigations is a scientific motivation
elaboration of high quality, non polluted, safe and healthy animal
origin food production.

Scientists of our institution carry out investigations for elaborating
sci
entifically motivated basic conceptions for the production and
processing of animal products to ensure obtaining of high quality,
healthy, harmless, and visually attractive products. In this process, risk
factors of food production are determined. Our inve
stigations cover
the whole technological “chain” “from farm to table”.
