Course description

:

This course includes semiconductor
-
based devices such as diodes (ordinary and special), bipolar junction
transistors (BJTs), field
-
effect transistors (FETs), MOSFET, and related components. Emphasis is placed on analysis,
selection, biasing, and applica
tions in power supplies, small
-
signal (and large
-
signal) amplifiers, switching, and
control circuits. Upon completion, students should be able to construct, analyze, verify, and troubleshoot discrete
component circuits using appropriate techniques. Practic
al applications are stressed.
