Your

is an advance
d surge protector wit h power
management features. Four sockets are indi vi dually manageable from
the computer via the
LAN

interface.

The sockets
can be switched on/off, by timer schedule, or triggered
by user or di fferent events. It is also possible to pre
-
program the unit
event timer schedul e and then disconnect the
SiS
-
PMS
-
LAN

from the
computer (hardware schedul e) and use it elsewhere. Additionally the
hardware event schedule will work even with the managi ng computer
switched off.

sockets to power up the managing comput
er.

1. Antivi rus soft ware may block connection to the device. Please
unload anti vi rus or confi gure it to permit conn
ections,

using with Power Manager

XXX.XXX.XXX.0 and XXX.XXX.XXX.255 are not allowed. It is possible
to configure SIS

PMS
-
LAN with web server only or to work with Power
Manager software, these services c
an not work together.

Specify Encryption key (Password) of 8 characters (for example

12345678).

This key is used with Power Manager soft ware only. Web server
has no data encryption and has another password, which is “1” by
default. The password is reset to

default only aft er general settings
reset with “IP Config” button.

To access the web server of

LAN, open Internet Explorer
(or other browser) and input the IP address of
SiS
-
PMS
-
LAN which is set by
SiS
-
PMS
-
LAN configuration utility
(for exampl e
“http://192.168.1.
241”). Logi n
page will be loaded, as shown on the Fig.1 bel ow. Type the password (“1” by
default) and push the “Enter” button.

The mai n window allows you to switch the sockets on and off. You can
also change settings of

PMS
-
LAN. Suppose you wish:

1)

switch Socket1 on;

switch Socket3 off in 3 days 3 hours 3 minutes

set the device name to be “New Name”

4)

set the password as “pa
ss1234”

To do that, please, fill in the main window as shown below on Fig.3 and
then press “Apply” button (i f you don’t wish to proceed with these changes
press the “Clear” button instead).

Besides The Socket 1 will be switched on immediately, this is why
the new current status of Socket 1 has become “ON”. The current status of
Socket 3 has

not been changed, because it will be switched later on (in 3
days, 3 hours and 3 minutes). Note that the switching time for Socket 2 is
decreased with 1 minut e because this time has passed since the l ast update

Notes:

1. It is strongly recommended to change the default password after
the fi rst login. For your own safety please, choose at least 8
-
l etter password,
containing both

letters and numbers.

2. Switching delay starts counting down immedi ately after the
“Apply” button is pushed.

3.
Whenever you change future events schedul e for any socket, this
might make the schedule of the other sockets wrong (with up to 60 seconds).
To
avoid it, set the new delays for all the sockets at the same time
.

4. If a certai n socket has switching fault, i.e. it should be on but there
is no voltage, or it should be off but it does have the voltage, then the sign ”!”
will be shown on the ri ght side

of the socket status field on the webpage. It
probably means that this socket is defective.

5. If Java script is disabled in your browser settings, then t he current
date/time will not be shown. This doesn’t influence the other settings of the
web server.

6. If Power Manager (or any other) software is trying to connect the
same
SiS
-
PMS
-
LAN at the same time with the web server then the web
server might work incorrectly or be inaccessible by the browser.

. Power M
anager Help


The
Settings dialog box

allows you to change settings for the
device sockets. You may choose the device and the socket from the
"Device" and "Socket" drop down list
-
boxes.



It is possible to name and assign a certain icon to the device
and soc
ket (for exampl e “Print er” or “Scanner”) using the "Rename"
button.



Check the "Disable device beeper" checkbox to disable the
built
-
in
SiS
-
PM beeper.



Check the "Show socket switch icon" checkbox if you want to
put the icon of the socket into the system t
ray. Such an icon is a fast
way to switch the device connected to t he socket on/off or check its
status.



You can also assign a hot key to switch the socket on/off.
Check the "Switch ON" and "Switch OFF" checkboxes and specify the
hot keys.



To switch the s
ocket on/off on Windows startup, check the "On
Windows startup" checkbox and choose the required action.

To switch the socket on/off on Windows shutdown, check the
"On Windows shutdown" checkbox and choose the required action.



Check the "When alarm goes
on start application" checkbox
and click the "Browse" button to select the program which will be
launched when the power supply to the socket does not match the
required event (i.e. the socket must be on, but there is no power
supplied to it yet).



Check t
he "When alarm goes off start application" checkbox
and click the "Browse" button to select the program, which will be
launched after the alarm state (see above) is resolved.



To manage
SiS
-
PMS
-
LAN

from the LAN and/or via Internet,
press the button "Device

sharing...". A dialog box "Device shari ng" will
appear. Set the checkbox "Share this device vi a network" if you want t o
enable the network access to the device. To prevent unauthorized
access to the
SiS
-
PMS
-
LAN

enter the access password i n the fiel d
"Pass
word". Note: to let
SiS
-
PMS
-
LAN

work vi a the network the port
6100 should be open. Contact your LAN admi nistrator for further details.



Using the
Timer schedule

dial og box you can create the hardware
timer schedule:



To add a new record, click the
"Add" button. The dial og "Add

To repeat your event (for example i f you want to perform the
same events every day) use the
"Loop" button and specify the l oop time
period in the "Edit loop period" dialog.



After the schedule record has been created, click the "Apply"
button to apply the hardware timer schedul e changes. In case of the
wrong entri es, they will be highli ghted and
an error message will appear.
Click the "Apply" button again after correcting all the errors.

Hint: Use the popup menu which can be acti vated by a right mouse
button click on the table.


The following rules apply for creating a correct schedule:

socked on and/or off. If you want the same event to be performed
peri odically, check "Perform every" checkbox and specify th

Using the
Applicati on events

with the sockets when a cert ain application is initiated or closed down.
You can also assign folders with the sockets to watch for particular fil e
placing
and removal.



To add a new program event, click the "Add app" button. The
"Add program event" di alog will appear. Speci fy the application title and
path to it using the "Browse" button or typing it manually in the "Title"
and "Path name" fiel ds. If you use

the "Browse" button you can also
specify a link to the application. The application title and path name will
be taken from the link if possible. After you have speci fied the
application, check "On run" and/or "On exit" and select the event. Note:
The sock
et is switched on/off only when the first window of the selected
application is launched or when the last window of the application is
closed. For exampl e, you can switch the ADSL modem on/off when
Internet Explorer is started up or closed. To disable the
t ask, uncheck
the "Enabled" checkbox, to enable the task set the checkbox again.
