Criterion A

Describe one social/ethical concern related to the IT system.

As the face recognition software takes photographs of all peopl
e that go through their
store, it can place someone at the store at a specific time. This could be of benefit to
them, such as in court where they need to collaborate their story or to convict
someone, placing them near the crime at a specific time.
No con
cern identified.

My Changes:

As under age drinker and smoker increase the need to stop them also increase. One of the way
Budgens supermarket have stop them is by installing face recognition software that that takes
pictures as the customers approach the

tills, transmitting the pictures to a control centre in
Worcester. The stakeholder of this situation is Charton Ltd the supplier of the software,
Budegens supermarket who use the software, and the customers of Budegens supermarkets.
The advantage of it to

the customer is that. It can make the buying process faster by identifying
customer who have previously verified that they are 18 or over. The disadvantage of
supermarkets using face recognition is that the customer may feel it a breach of privacy. Instea
d
of face recognition the supermarket could just store the information or record.

Describe the relationship of a primary stakeholder to the IT system.

The primary stakeholders of the IT system are the user of the software, the supermarket
Budgens
stakehol
der
and the company Charton Ltd, who supply the technology.

My Changes:

The primary stakeholder is Budgens supermarket who use the software and the other
stakeholder are Charton Ltd, and the customer of Budgens. Budgens is the supermarket
who use Charto
n Ltd face recognition software. If the customer like the face recognition
software. Charton Ltd technology will grows to stop under age drinkers and smokers,
Charton Ltd will increase in sales as more store will also want to use the software.
