Course Description

In t
his course

we
will
develop intercultural communication
skills
through a first of its
kind international university exchange program in virtual reality. In the 3
-
D immersive
world of “Second Life”, students will collaborate with university students
abroad

to
build a virtual reality space and give a group presen
tation in that space.

Groups of

KGU students will work with

university students abroad through “Second Life”
to complete assignments.

Intense intercultural
group communications will
be
essential
throughout the course.

mework is essential to this class. You will need to spend a great deal of time
communicating with your overseas teammates outside of class both in Second L

fe
and through Wiki discussions.

You will also need to provide summaries and logs of
all interaction
s.

There are no acceptable excuses for not doing homework.
If

for any
reason you could not do homework during a week
,

then

you should make a huge

effort during all other weeks. You will be graded holistically at the end of the course
on the quality, quanti
ty, and consistency of your communications.
If
you do not do
homework, YOU WILL FAIL.
