constructed trail provides great views of the local mountains and valleys. We will hike

FOBES TRAIL TO DEVILS SLIDE H
IKE


This is a continuation of our goal to complete Section B of the Pacific Crest Trail in
2013. This segment will consist of a 16.3 mile day
-
hike. Starting at Fobes Trailhead the
trail climbs from (5,990') 2.6 miles to the Apache Spring trail (7,430'). W
e continue NW
6.3 miles past Apache Peak and Southwell Peak. Here, we reach the top of the ascent
(8,380') above Andreas Canyon; deep gorge. The trail turns west and in 2.1 miles
intersects with Tahquitz Peak Trail (8570'). The PCT hike ends 1.3 miles furt
her at
Saddle Junction (8,100'). From here we hike 2.5 miles down Devils Slide Trail to end the
trail. RATED: Moderate in difficulty. MEET: At 7:00 A.M. at the Devils Slide trailhead.
From there we will caravan to the Fobes trailhead where the hike will be
gin. An

Ridge (7,670') trailhead down the north side of San Jacinto Wilderness to Snow Creek Road
(3,200') before completing the final 2.4 miles to the I

This is the last 29.9 mile segment of the Big Bear Recognition Program, promoting the
completion of Section C of the Pacific Crest Trail (132.9 miles).

This is a backpacking trip starting at Mission Spring Trail Camp, located 8 mi
les inside
the San Gorgonio Wilderness off of Hwy 38 and the Heartbar exit. Starting at the
trailhead we hike south on the Pacific Crest Trail to I
-
10 Freeway approximately 29.9
miles. We will spend two
-
nights camping along the PCT on our way to the I
-
10 F
reeway
near Whitewater. You will be required to financially contribute for your portion of the
Airport van service that will pick us up at the I

10 freeway and return us to the Heartbar
