DC Analysis


Schematic




Procedure

for Building the Schematic


1.

Open PSpice Schematics.


Note:
All the components in PSpice are arranged in libraries. To get one, use
Draw/Get New Part/Part Name
.

Le
ft Click

on mouse will place the component and
Right Click

will terminate the task.


2.

Take resistance by typing
r

and place in appropriate places.

To rotate any component,
use
CTL R
.

3.

Double Click

on the part value to open
set attribute value

dialog box. Ent
er the
appropriate values
.

4.

Take the voltage source
VDC
and current source
IDC
and enter the values.

5.

To display the current, take
IPROBE
.

6.

Wire the circuit using
Draw Wire

option.

7.

Take the
VIEWPOINT

to display the node voltage.

8.

Any schematic will not work wi
thout a ground. So take
AGND
.

9.

Save the circuit before simulation. Then go to
Analysis/Simulate
. The current and
voltage values will be displayed on the schematic.


DC Sweep

Analysis


1.

For Dc sweep analysis

, Go to
Analysis/setup/DC sweep
. Double click on
DC

sweep
.


2.

Fill the source which has to be swept

and fill the attributes for the range over which it
has to be swept.

click ok


3.

Then go to
Analysis/Simulate

it

will automatically open the

Probe
.

Trace/Add Trace

will open the dialog box.

Select

I(R31),
V1(

and

in the
Trace Expression

to display the dc
sweep

waveform.

1.

Build the circuit with the values of the components and the dependent current
controlled voltage source as shown (H1).

2.

Analyze t
he circuit and plot the Transient waveform.

Problem:


A.


Construct a circuit using Pspice simulation software satisfying the following condition.


1. The circuit should have at least 7 elements
including sources

and resistors.

2. The cir
cuit should have at least one

voltage and one current source .

3. The circuit should have at least 3 loops so that there will be parallel as well
as series

resistor combinations.


B.

Simulate the circuit using Pspice to obtain all the mesh currents and nod
e voltages.

Display those on schematic
diagram.
Plot the currents and
voltages.

Display all traces in one
window.


C.

Using DC sweep
analysis,

sweep the voltage from 2
-

20V and plot the power delivered/absorbed
by each element .Also using Transient Analysis o
btain the power delivered /absorbed by each
element.
Display
all traces

of transient and all traces of DC sweep in one window.


D. Verify all your results algebraically.




Each
student

is

required to submit a re
port for this lab

on the next Lab
day
. The report should be formal with all the schematics and results.
(Probes, output files etc.)
