Classroom evaluation forms

June 2007

The teachers
were asked to complete

an evaluation form at the end of the professional
development

activity. This gave

Biotech staff feedback on what they
viewed as helpful
and what
they wanted to learn at future professional development offerings.

7

Teachers were

asked to take an evaluation form for students

and for their selves

to fill out after
participating in the hands on activity in their classroom
s
.

Biotech Workshop Participant Agreement

June 2007

The workshop participant agreement was designed
to ensure participant follow
-
up occurred. It
was used to concur that all participants would return surveys after

the kits were used with
students in the classroom to allow biotech staff to use this information for grant reporting
purposes.

8

Biotechnology sign in sheet

June 2007

At the beginning of each professional development a sign in sheet is placed at the door for
participants to sign. This allows the biotech staff to document who was there.

1.

Early summer or late fall are good times to offer professional devel
opments. In the end

it

depends on teachers and their schedules.

2.

Must make sure teachers understand participant agreement. They must understand that they
have to return the surveys

(teacher and student)
so it can be recorded on the report
.

3.

Take home classroom kits need to be made with supplies that are easy to work with in a
classroom setting.

4.

Pre
-
packaged kits did not work well, will make our own next time.

5.

Check supplies and equ
ipment,
pipettes

in kits were difficult to use.
