UPGRADING THE SVM

USING
FTP
.


This upgrade is a software file only, and will run on all existing SVMi
-

E

hardware.

It will be completed by downloading
patch file

through SVMi

FTP Server
.


The attached files are following.

to Version
4.3.1.1
.

Follow these steps to install the new software.


WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

1.


A SVMi
-
8
E

running
o
n a
iDCS 500 or iDCS 500P

system.

2.


A PC connected to the SVMi
-
8
E

acting as an administration terminal.

3.

It is assum
ed that your SVMi
-
8
E

are connected
with

Ethernet Cable and
IP address of your SVMi is set. If you
don’t know how to set IP

address,
please refer to SVM manual.


STEPS:

1.


Download the upgrade file and place it
on the

desktop of the PC.
DO
NOT EXECUTE IT ON T
HIS PC


IT WILL CORRUPT YOUR WINDOWS
FILE SYSTEM. THIS MUST BE INSTALLED ONLY ON AN SVMI

Execute FTP Server
by selecting [G]Operating Utilities and [
G
]
Backup
and Restore
.

3.

Exe
cute any ftp client program(ex.WSFTP) on your desktop and
connect with SVMi
-

E
.

4.

Download the upgrade file to the root directory of the SVMi
-
8
E

5.

Enter

exit


to quit ftp server and return to SVMi program.

6.

Shutdown SVMi

E by selecting [G]Operation Utilities and [D]Shutdown
SVMi

E.

7.

At the C:> prompt type

UP
4311


and press enter. Thi
s will upgrade your
SVMi
-
8
E

system to Version
4.3.1.1
. When you are prompted to overwrite files
select

Y


8.

Reboot the SVMi

E

9.

Check the version number by selecting [E] System Wide params. The
upgrade is now complete
d
