1 Intro
This is a little collection of information that can help to make your computer experience a little more
secure. It doesn't matter if you're a whistleblower and going online means being dead or alive,or if
you're just a\normal"person.Everyone should care about their privacy!

2 Software
ALWAYS compile the programs you use yourself!
Don't trust any software that is not FOSS (Free open source software). The next part will probably
deal with software in relation to the internet.
You could use a proxy,Torify your whole system or use a VPN.
2.1 Surng
Make sure to use a free browser (free as in freedom) like refox.
 TOR can help to maximize your privacy
 https everywhere is a good plugin
 as well as noscript
 DuckDuckGo is your next google!
2.2 Messaging
Don't trust facebook messenger, skype or google.
 Pidgin and OTR (O the Record)
 BitMessage,in a encrypted container
 email:
{ Try to use SSL/TLS for your email-client!
{ use LavaBit(maybe premium only...) or your own server
{ GnuPG:Tutorial for enigmail and thunderbird (FOSS)
{ Use IMAP instead of POP,to not store your mails at their servers
2.3 File-sharing
If you really want it,make sure to use secure services.
 mega.co.nz is free as in free beer, and thus shouldn't be trusted.
 host your own owncloud.
2.4 Payments
For important transactions you shouldn't trust paypal.
 Cash, still the most secure payment system!
 Bitcoin,digital cryptocurrency
 Litecoin,fast transactions

3 General things
General use of online services can be harming your freedom,as even if the contact to the servers is
encrypted, either the content or your ip can be tracked!I strongly recommend not to use services
such as Google,facebook,twitter,dropbox,evernote.
Some random things:
 Encrypt your wi with WPA2!Don't use WPS!
 Always lock your screen when leaving the computer!
 Have Darik's boot and nuke (dban) or Thermite near your hardrive or ssd
3.1 Operating systems
 Fedora,as it is FOSS
 Tails for real paranoids
 For hiding your traces, always use live-disks!!!Unplug the harddrive of the computer to make
sure nothing is written on it.You can encrypt an external memory-device for storing data
generated in live-sessions.
3.2 Going Online
 Buy a prepaid mobile and alternate the SIM
 Go online in public hotspots, use a macchanger (e.g.GNU macchange)
4
4 Hardware
4.1 Keybord,Mouse
 Always check cable connection out- and inside the computer.
 use wired devices only,to avoid being snied by wireless packet sniers
 cover your ngers with something while typing passwords
4.2 Optical devices,sticks
 Encrypt your whole stick with truecrypt (but compile it yourself!)
 the inner ring of a disk contains unique characters, can be used to verify disk
4.3 Other internal hardware
 glue your RAM to it's banks to prevent a cold boot-attack
 reassemble your bios,or use a FOSS one.
