SUCCESSFULLY APPLIED CHANGES

NEW SSID
ClickShare
-
STARIN
.001212000069

NEW PASSPHRASE; STARIN9417000069

On 7/06/12 the passphrase was returned to “clickshare”, all lower case.

HOST NAME NO LONGER MATCHES SSID

This did take care of the problem. I could connect via the LAN. I could not
connect to the clickshare wifi.
See below.

2 buttons;

9417150274

9417150313

Could not connect to thre ClickShare WIFI when my wireless adaptor was set to “obtain IP address
automatically..”

I changed my wireless adaptor settings to 192.168.2.12.
I could

not connect and it was asking for a
“network Security Key”. I tried “clickshare”. I tried the new passphrase “
STARIN9417000069” I then
received “This computer currently has limited connectivity to clickshare…..”

I changed my computer back to “obtain autom
atically and it connected…. Now ok

I shut the unit down from “maintenance/status” twice and reconnected Ethernet and WIFI.

What do we need to do about the new password and SSID?

Base unit 9417000125 After updating the software, no WIFI. Flashing Red on front of Base unit
continuously.

SSID;
ClickShare
-
R9861006BNA00.001212000125

PassPhrase; clickshare

Will change the SSID to; ClickShare
-
Starin.9
417000125

Will change the pass phrase to;
STARIN9417000125

Changes were successful.

Changed back to originals, and tried to pair a button. After a few seconds, the base unit started
flashing red again. I don’t know if I waited long enough to test the
base unit. Like the previous
unit with this symptom, it would turn steady white for a short time, 30seconds?, and then go back
to red.

I changed the SSID and passphrase again, successfully, and tehn restarted the unit. I let it sit for
about 3 minutes before inserting a button to pair.

I inserted a button into the base unit. This time the base unit stayed white and then both the
button a
nd the base began flashing white as normal. Three of the four buttons finished with both
the base and the button solid red. The last one did not.

The last one, (9417150154) was inserted and within about 1 minute, both the base and the button
turned to sol
id white. I think that this is the button that I’d first connected to the base before the
restart. Maybe it was paired and updated at that time? I plugged this button into the PC, and it
flashed white but could not connect. I t continued to flash white for

minutes.

I plugged one of the buttons that ended in solid red into the mac, it flashed white for a 20?
Seconds and went to solid red. Could not connect.

I removed the flashing white button (0154) from the PC and inserted one of the two remaining
untest
ed solid red buttons into the PC. It flashed white for about 1o seconds and turned to solid
red. Could not connect to the base.

The last button (third of the 3 that finished pairing with the base solid red,) was inserted into the
MAC and within 10 seconds

turned solid red and could not connect to the base unit.

All of this time the base remained solid white.

The WIFI Access point shows the green check instead of the red checkmark.

I changed the SSID and passphrase back to default. The base unit now flashe
s red.

I reconnected via Ethernet and restarted unit.

Now the unit is back to flashing red.

Changed the SID and PSS again to the alternate’ mentioned above.

“Successfully applied changes” and after a few seconds, the base unit stopped flashing red and
wen
t to solid white.

I inserted button 0337 to the PC. It continually flashed white and could not connect.I inserted
0154 into the pc and continued to flash white and could not connect.

I inserted 0337 into the base and it quickly “successfully paired”. I ns
erted it into the PC and it
continued to flash white.

At this point, the WIFI from the base unit is functional.

Wifi Access Point Daemon (hostapd

I’m able to connect to it at 192.168.2.1. on my laptop.

I disconnected from the base unit. No WIFI or LAN.

I inserted the button 0337 that had just failed to connect while connected to the pc, into the
front of the base unit, and it quickly showed “successfully paired”.

I inserted it back into the PC and it could not connect.

I reconnected to the base WIFI and
via the maintenance/status page, I had it “restart.

After the restart the base unit was solid white again.

I connected again through the base WIFI and then disconnected.

I inserted the 0337 button into the PC and it continued to flash shite and could not
connect to
the base unit. I removed 0337 from the pc.

I inserted 0154 button into the base unit. It quickly paired and updated successfully. I
inserted it into the PC and it could not connect to the base unit.

I know the WIFI is working because I’ve connec
ted with my laptop multiple times.

I’m not connected to the WIFI with my laptop at the time that I’m attempting to connect to
the base unit with the button. (multiple buttons all fail)

The last thing I did was to connect to the base unit WIFI and confirme
d connection. I
disconnected the laptop from the base unit WIFI.

I paired each button again with the base unit, successfully.

I tried one last time to connect using the PC and the MAC.

No success.

Any suggestions?

Ahhh! I wish I’d found this email from

you last night. I’d been doing it all from memory. (Not much memory
left!)

I’ll try changing the WIFI channel and clear the log, debug logging and reboot .

You wrote to me about this type of symptom on 7/02/12. I’m heading to the shop right now.

Dear Tom
,

Please access the web interface of the Base Unit and change the SSID to a value between 1 and 32
characters.

The password has to be at least 8 characters also max 32. This should solve the problem.

If this doesn’t work, please change the wifi channel i
n the advanced tab.

If you still encounter problems, please clear the log, enable “debug logging” and reboot so we have a full
boot in the log.

Thank you,

Hanne
