Title:

High ECSA usage in MSMTC address space when installing many product PTFs using
CA Mainframe Software Manager.

Description:

Not having the CAS9DCM3 DCM (Data Collector Module) installed in the ENF database, could
result

in high ECSA utilization in the MSMTC address space. The presence of this DCM allows
for the successful activation of the CAICCI subsystem. This subsystem is responsible for many
base level CCI functions including memory management. CA Mainframe Software
Manager
uses CCI services for internal processing.

Solution:

If you see that there is a large (over 1 Meg per PTF) uses of ECSA in the MSMTC address space
it may be an issue with the ENF database and not having CAS9DCM3 installed. An indication
that this D
CM is not installed is that you will not see the following message during ENF/CCI
initialization.

CAICCI Subsystem is operational

To confirm, you can run the CAS9DB utility to perform a LIST of the ENF database to
determine which DCM's are insta
lled. If you find CAS9DCM3 is not installed, you will need to
run the CAS9DB utility to install CAS9DCM3. Here is a sample of the utility:

//jobcard

//CAS9DB1 EXEC PGM=CAS9DB,REGION=4M

//*ENFDB DD DISP=SHR,DSN=cai.enfdb

//DBOUT DD SYSOUT=*

//DBIN
