I
NCOGEN and TimeLogic announce Bioinformatics Collaboration

Clemson, SC

June 1, 2000

The Institute for Computational Genomics, Inc. (“INCOGEN”) and TimeLogic Corporation announced
today a product development and marketing collaboration to deliver tools

for managing high
-
throughput
sequence analysis. INCOGEN will develop Java
-
based graphical user interfaces that will allow
researchers to efficiently construct, manage and visualize genomic analyses and their results using
TimeLogic’s popular DeCypher seri
es of bioinformatics supercomputers. Both companies will promote
each other’s technologies through the creation of a channel relationship.

In announcing the new relationship, Dr. Maciek Sasinowski, President and CEO of INCOGEN expressed
his excitement
about the new collaboration. “It’s an excellent synergy of technical resources and
corporate strengths that will provide the genomics research community with a powerful integrated
analysis package. With our new intuitive analysis management software, DeCy
pher accelerators will be
even more efficient to use, saving bioinformaticists’ time and letting them explore new analytical
approaches easily.”

“We’re very pleased that INCOGEN selected our DeCypher bioinformatics accelerator to be the core
computationa
l horsepower for this important project.” said Jim Lindelien, chairman and CEO of
TimeLogic Corporation. “With the addition of INCOGEN’s graphical web tools, DeCypher’s
comprehensive analytical features will be easier for researchers to access, and their
search results easier to
assimilate and share with colleagues. Our customers will be better able to tackle the expanding flood of
genome data. Accelerating genomic discovery is what it’s all about.”
