VISA PROCESSING OFFICER (LE4 & LE5)


A vacancy exists on a contractual basis
in the Immigration Section

at the Australian High
Commission.

The position is to be filled
January

2013
.


The successful applicant will contribute to the smooth, efficient running of the office by
providing administrative support to staff and undertaking counter duties.


DUTIES

LE4

Specific d
uties include:



Assist with the efficient processing of visa appli
cations



Enter and retrieve data from computer based systems



Provide a high level of client service at all times when dealing with members of the
public directly at our service counters, by phone and electronically



C
heck for completeness and validity of app
lications and be responsible for collection of
public monies in accordance with Chief Executive Instructions (CEI)



Assist with the management of mail and filing within the office



Assist with file management including archiving and destruction



Assist with g
eneral clerical duties and other duties as directed.


DUTIES

LE5

In addition to the above duties, the successful
applicant

of the LE5 position will also include:



O
rganise interview trips including preparation of the casework,
travel
, interpreters and
necessary equipment for the team;



E
ngage/liaise regularly with our key
external
stakeholders associated with the interview
trips;



T
ravel with the interview team to provide assistance
o
n the administrative tasks;




Assess

visa applications; and



Have
the tech
nical proficiency or ability to operate biometrics equipment.

Starting monthly salary
for an LE4 position
will range from Ksh

depending on
skills and experienc
e.

The LE5 position will have a monthly salary ranging from
Ksh

126,257.
Benefits include payment of medical insurance for employee and
contributions for dependents, 22 days recreation leave per year, a performance payment
scheme and opportunities

for incremental advancement.
